Lillard is averaging 26 points, 6 assists. There's only been one player in NBA history who's been left off the All Star roster while averaging 26/6. Whiteside leads the league in rebounding at 14 rpg and is putting up 17 ppg. There hasn't been a 17/14 player in the league since Dwight Howard in 2011. The only living players to average 17/14 post-NBA/ABA merger are Dwight, Love, Hakeem, Barkley, Moses, Walton, and Kareem. In Walton's surmised words, "Hassan Whiteside not making the NBA All Star team is the greatest snub in NBA history!" These are the two biggest historical snubs. I expect them to be named injury replacements (Anthony Davis, Kawhi, Gasol, Hayward out West and Kyrie, Wall, Derozan in the East could miss the game).
East I have no problem with and they actually nailed it! The West is alright, but at least 2 of these should not have made it: DJ, Klay & Green.
East have the shortest Centers in Lebrawn, Love, Millsap vs DJ, Marc, AD and Cousins. If they still win it, respect to small ball.
I don't consider whiteside is not an all star this year regardless of those numbers. we have the same discussions every year about guards in the west. some will be left out because the guards are stacked in the west. there just isn't enough room
Yea, it's a joke. Those 3 shouldn't be in the ALL STAR game. That's like having these 3 guys: Curry = Chris Jackson Klay = Rip Hamilton Donkey = Byron Houston Chris Jackson, Rip Hamilton, and Byron Houston on the ALL STAR teams, that's the GS TRIOS
