I think that is a little high. They should be higher than the Suns, Indiana, and maybe a couple others. What do you think?
We aren't higher because we have Eddie running from the law, and most of starting line-up on the IR. Untill we can get everyone in line or behind bars... we won't really break the top 10.
didn't cnn si had us rated 9th? In all honesty we should be atleast in the top 8 in the west and except for NJ and maybe Detroit, I don't see an east team that's clearly that much than us so anywhere 9 - 13 sounds fine to me. Also, yao improved a lot.
This commentary is a joke. Stein is an idiot. I've exchaged angry e-mails with him in the past over certain matters, he responds too. Way for him to rehash the stupid Francis-Van Gundy out of context non-story from 2 weeks ago, I guess nothing has changed since then. Anyway, the fact that he has us behind Orlando is a travesty. We kicked their ass head to head and finished with a better record with a tougher schedule, yet they're better
I don't know why they don't have guys collaborate on these things. How can only one guy's opinion be used for ESPN's official Power Rankings? I should email them about that, we all should.
Marc Stein is an idiot. How can the Suns, Hornets and Bulls ranked so high. If this what espn ranks, espn doenst know basketball.
In all honesty the rankings look OK to me. Houston may be better than Hornets and Magic in preseason but #13 isn't bad considering the Eddie Griffin fiasco, which is a shame. Look at it this way: Now the Rockets have more 'rooms for improvements' over next few months, correct? ESPN does a decent job getting all fans informed. It's up to the reader himself/herself to determine which one of those rumors are actually 'real'. I've seen many people (on this board and others) bashing ESPN when one of their crew reported a 'rumor' from 'insiders'. The truth is no matter how close the 'insider' is to certain organization, they still won't know if everything they heard is true/not true. They reported it as a 'rumor' but many people for some reason chose to think it's a 'real case' and whenever it ain't happening, they bashed the media, in this case, ESPN. I hope I don't get bash for this but from what I've seen recently from ESPN. They didn't guaranteed any of those 'rumors', they just reported it the way the message sent to them. Chad Ford did make up some trade ideas but he did make it loud and clear that those were his opinions only and not anything that 'will' happen. Chill out guys.
Who really gives a crap about Griffin? Cato is playing great, and anything Griffin gives us would be a bonus. Cato is excelling in Eddie's areas of expertise (rebounding, shotblocking), and he's doing it better than eddie did anyway.
Isn't that ranking giving us a playoff spot (8th in the West) already? Why bother to argue for his rationale. We are kicking SA in the pre-season in their home court. They will be scared to face us in the first round. Haha.
I think the same guy---or was it Chad Ford?---had Yao ranked 29th in the top 200 NBA players. Right behind Andrei Kiri-f***ing-lenko. ESPN must have it in for our boy.
hey... this way we stick out big and tall... so when were in the top 10 it will be easy for us rox fans to find our team
