Ya know, a lot of people have applauded the Rockets for their action against Eddie Griffin, but has anyone thought that maybe Eddie didn't need an ass kicking but that he actually needed help and that throwing him out on his ass wasn't the best thing to do for a 21 year old kid? I mean yes he should be accountable and responsible for his actions and should probably have been punished but like this? You have also got to look at the human aspect of this situation; THIS KID NEEDS HELP AND HE'S NOT GOING TO GET IT HIMSELF...why why didn't they help him?
You can't force someone to get help if they don't want it. And I think the people to blame for the EG disaster are the people who make bad threads. Grrr.
EG needs a change of the scenery, basically gets away from those "people" who are around him in Houston. But then maybe in a new place, he is going to surround himself with the same kind of people.
Let me tell you who is to blame, according to the following people: R0ckets03: "Dr of Dunk." Trader Jorge: "The lunatic fringe liberal media." glynch: "Bush." treeman: "The terrorists." DaDakota: "I don't know who is to blame, but we are the bully, let's go in there, they better follow our lead, or else!" Another Brother: "All these racists." Clutch: "The Utah Jazz." Macbeth: "*" (* represents 3 pages of text, which to type I don't have the time right now )
video games, the matrix and the 2nd amendment, happy? he's 21, rich with a kid of his own, there are tons other people without money that need more help than him.
Nobody is to blame but Eddie himself. He's responsible for his own actions and no one else. I'm sorry but I just have a hard time feeling sorry for someone making millions of dollars. Was he forced to smoke pot? Was he forced to beat up people in high school? Was he forced to skip out on practice? You choose your own path in life. Sure you can offer to help him and he should receive help, but to suggest that anybody but Eddie Griffen himself is to blame is ridiculous.
First of all, Eddie is to blame for his own problems, but if blame has to be passed to someone else, I blame Rudy T. and the Rockets organization. Do you think Eddie started using drugs last week? We are not around Eddie as much as the Rockets. I am sure the Rockets knew of Eddie's business but did nothing.
Totally agree with that. Start with Eddie then realize he is a very young man and then point a finger to all of the enablers in his family, at Seton Hall, and finally with the Rockets. RudyT's "player coach" style wasn't good for a player like Eddie who has demonstrated he needs a structured environment to get him out of some of this nonsense behavior he engages in.
To be fair, he only did pot. I know I know it's still an illegal substance, but to us college student these days, how shocking would you be if one your buddy was using pot? And if you found out, you'd stop being friends with that person. Now if he used something stronger or more dangerous, like cocaine or beer, then I'd step away.
