"Rarely is the question asked: Is our Rockets winning the game while having no energy or heart and being flamed by an overreacting git" ------------------ Cause I'm a twenty first century digital boy. I don't know how to read, but I got a lot of toys. My daddy's a lazy middle class intellectual. My mommy's on valium, so ineffectual. Oh Oh, ain't life a mystery?
What threads are you talking about. I rarely used to start my own threads. I registered in August, and didn't really start bashing the Rockets in threads until about December. I wish I could just relax and feel great during a horrible first half, but I can't. Believe it or not, this board really helps me to relieve stress. I get really into Rocket games, and I hate it when they go out and play like they're stoned (even though they probably are). Hell, my original post wasn't all that negative. I accepted the fact, like most people on this board, that the Rockets are not likely to make the playoffs. "so lets hope they develop more chemistry and come on strong next year". What's negative about that? ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
Yeah, this was kinda what I meant. I have said earlier that I think Turn is worse than ZRB, but thats because ZRB can be kinda positive in between games. But today Turn wasn't even in the chat. Thank GOD - and ZRB uses the BBS as a chatroom ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
Fine then. I'll refrain from bashing the Rockets, and supress all my opinions, okay? I mean it. I don't want to alienate every single Rocket fan in the world. Here, I'll even change my sig. ------------------ I'm the most positive Rocket fan in the world.
don't stop now ZRB-- your capacity for the negative is staggering i laughed at another post where you said " finally, Francis hit a game winning shot...." and this come from behind victory will be overshadowed by the Sacramento comeback..... every positive comment has a qualification -- that's a gift, ZRB -- you're growing on me.......... ------------------
I always like it when the Rockets get press on National TV. I just meant that its a shame that the Sacramento comeback will overshadow the Houston comeback. Its not a dig at the Rockets. As for the Francis comment, I think it was a sort of compliment. It was great to finally see him come through in crunch time. Its the type of shot that really improves a player's confidence. ------------------ I'm the most positive Rocket fan in the world.
Listen, all of us who love this team let's rally round and be as positive as we can and let's see the boys into the playoffs. From there, let's just see what happens. Over the remainder of the games left we'll see our guys soundly beat some really good playoff teams, and we may well lose to a team or two that's not as good as we are. But whatever. Let's look for consistency down the stretch, and let's face it, at the end of the day, if we deserve to be in the playoffs, that's where we'll be. Go Jazz* ------------------
the sacramento victory only overshadows the rocket win if you were watching the sac. game -- I wasn't, so it didn't --and that wasn't Francis' first game winning shot..... my point is this: don't quit on me now -- i'm just beginning to fully appreciate your ability to wallow in the negative -- don't flip-flop on me now, baby........ ------------------
I am sorry to say this but you are not a true Rockets fan. First you say it was bad that they are losing by 20, but if they lose by 2 it would be alright. Then when they come back you say losing by two would be disastrous. You my friend are a bandwagoner. You are probably the fan that sits on his hands during the game at a Rockets game. You are so freaking negative. Please when the Rockets make the playoffs dont hop on the bandwagon. I hate fair weather fans. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
Uhhh are you sure you arent stoned 24/7 365 days a year? You need Jesus. You need prayer! And oh by the way I believe most of the TRUE FANS believe they will make the playoffs contrary to your believe. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder [This message has been edited by cato13 (edited March 07, 2001).]
I know we were only playing the Hawks but we were missing both of our starting big men. We should not let that 1st half reflect on our team, because we were missing two key players from our team. It is really remarkable that we won, not just that we came back from so far...it is hard for a team to adjust to not having their big men on the floor, so I can see exactly why we started so poorly. If we were playing for next season I don't think these guys should have attempted a comeback so we could improve in the lottery, but obviously that is not what they intend to do. Yet again we have so called "fans" underestimating our team. ------------------ "Steve is good. Steve is real good." -- Cleveland's rookie point guard Andre Miller on Rocket rookie point Steve Francis
Who the hell are you to call me a fair weather fan? If I would not a Rocket fan, I would not spend so much time posting on this damn board. I would not have been satisfied with a loss in any way, and I was right that the Rockets were playing like total crap. It really bothers me when a bunch of millionaires play like they couldn't care less. That was the story of the first half, of course I was frustrated. They nearly blew their new found lead in the fourth, and they WERE giving up points on EVERY posession to the lowly Hawks. All my points were valid criticisms. I don't need to prove myself to the likes of you anyway, so I'm done with this thread. Prayer? Please. I am about as religious as I am a Jazz Fan. ------------------ I'm the most positive Rocket fan in the world.
First post in a long time. I've been a reader of the board since the last half of the 98 season. I haven't posted in so long, my registration info is long gone. Anyways, I feel compelled to post again to point out an observation. When I first noticed ZRB's trend for negativity it annoyed me. When it continued, it DISGUSTED ME. Then, all of a sudden, he was actually optimistic and positive. Sure, he gets frustrated with lousy play, but it is obvious to me that he DOES NOT hate the Rox. It seems nobody is willing to recognise that. ------------------ Please do not give the Spurs any credit in any way/shape/form. Their fans NEVER have or will do the same for us.

Thanks for posting that SARocket....I also do not understand why ZRB is getting so much abuse on this thread for being a concerned fan who obviously wants the team to win and feels sick to his stomach when they don't bring their A game. And sure this was a great comeback win for us and all, but beating Atlanta (however we do it) still does not show that we can consistently play w/ the big boys in the west. I, just like everyone else here, would love to see our boys in the playoffs this year, but realistic observations like ZRB's point out that it is going to be very difficult b/c right now Phoenix and Minnesota simply have more experience in getting to the playoffs, not to mention a 3 game lead. ------------------
No one ever said he hated the Rockets, at least I didn't. And ZRB isnt the only who is sick to his stomache when the Rockets dont play up to expectations. I for one go nuts. But dang i dont abuse the Rockets when they are having bad game until they actually lose. Cmon Mo and Hakeem didnt even play this game so did you expect a blowout? I want them to win as bad as the next fan but I never keep bad mouthing or I just get tired of all the whining and finger pointing all the time when they lose. We already know when they lose, ZRB is always gonna say it is Rudy T's fault. And if you wanna talk about being realistic, please look at Minnesota, Phoenix, and even Dallas' schedule. I like the Rockets chances even if they had lost last night. Sit back and enjoy the ride, we will be in the playoffs as long as we can stay healthy. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
Speaking of staying healthy, I hope Hakeem can even play now....he has been slow to recover from injuries and a strained calf may sideline him for a couple weeks. Regarding the other team's schedules, I think we might have a chance of knocking Phoenix out of the 8th spot, but Minnesota is a good defensive team that knows how to win big games...they will be tough. And Mark Cuban will probably buy off the refs b4 letting the Mavs drop out of playoffs ------------------
The sky is falling.... The sky is falling.... The sky is falling.... Oh! Its just rain Signed ZRB ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!! [This message has been edited by 3Rings (edited March 08, 2001).]
