Yeah I was going to add that I don't know why they get tons of funding either.

 

Hmm, guess it isn't as easy an issue to argue on moral grounds as abortion. Sorry about that. Are there other issues with more clearly moral dimensions that you don't want your tax dollars spent on? I know I am opposed to capital punishment, and I don't want my tax dollars spent on executing prisoners. Maybe you can jump on that bandwagon? How about opposing the war on drugs?

How is Texas's state funded women's program Planned Parenthood without their abortion practice?

I suppose it is difficult to trace the foundations of one's morality. Does my upbringing in a house that believed but were not regular church attendees account for my opposition to abortion? Was it attending a Catholic high school as a non-Catholic? Who can say for sure. I think my pro-life stance is rooted in the idea that children should not be killed for expediency, but anything is possible I suppose. Regardless of the source of my moral stances, I have no tax-exempt organization, church or otherwise, to worry about the government taking away such status.

 

Something liberals / progressives may want to consider is the percentage of black babies being aborted vs white babies. The best stats (from non-obvious anti-abortion sites) I could find have blacks aborting babies at 5 times the rate of whites, and accounting for somewhere around 40% of abortions.

You can make a decent argument that supporting abortion is racist, and I would bet that there are many democrats out there who secretly believe what BobbyTheGreat is espousing openly.

Color me unsurprised that yet another progressive policy hurts a group that progressives claim to be trying to help.
