I hope he doesn't come back too soon. I don't think we can catch the Spurs, so we are pretty have the 3 spot nailed. No need to hurry.

1 game of > 47 rebounds since Capela has been out (14 games)
7 games > 47 when he was in the linup (28 games)

10 games < or = 41 while in the line up
    6 games < or = 41 since he's been out

I'm not a stats wizard but I put pen to paper and came up with some numbers from game logs.

Capela played 10 games in Dec....15 mins in the game he was injured. Here are rebound stats
with and without that injury game vs 14 games after Capela injury.

    Rockets averaged/game................OReb....................DReb......................TReb.......................
    10 games w/Caps in Dec................11.5........................37...........................48.5.....................
    9 games (excluding injury gm)......11.66......................37..........................48.66......................

Rockets avg in 14 gms since...........9.93.......................32.14.....................42.07......................

The Rockets have dropped from 6th in rebounding to 12th over night (last 4 games have hurt).

No need to run him out there against the Heat. Unless he really is ready to return. Then I guess they could give him a few minutes to get back into game shape.

They are bringing him back too fast, should have traded for a bigger and taller big man before all of this went down.

Houston was 8th in DRTG during the time of Pat Beverley and Clint Capela. They went 15-2. Since Capela has been out Houston has dropped to 22nd in defensive rating and are currently 10-4. Clint helps out a lot it seems.

I read that too & I'm pretty sure Mathloom meant "team." I'm sure the error was due to the almost debilitating excitement that the Rockets are actually going to be getting defensive rebounds now.

Or perhaps he sees the future and Capela will come back stronger and feistier and lead the league in rebounds the rest of the year. Whatever the case, it'll be good to have Clint back.

People saying it's going to take a while for Clint to get back game speed. Stamina maybe, but dude catches lobs and grabs rebounds. His two best attributes are just natural God given talents that he displayed as a super RAW rookie. He'll be fine as long as his leg is strong.

Hope you're right, Spacemoth. I'm a bit gun shy about the whole "i" thingy based on what I consider our inglorious record in that regard.

We already caught the Spurs before the two game losing streak. As it stands now we're only one game behind with 40 to go. Why wouldn't we be able to catch them?! Smh

I agree with what everyone is saying:

    Bring him back slowly.

Limit his minutes initially until his body and conditioning are where they need to be for starters minutes.

His rebounding and energy have been truly missed. Others have stepped up in his absence, but his loss has been apparent and I am so happy to see that he is moving in the direction this teams needs.

He'll likely come back slowly just by the fact his stamina wont be there so he will get short stints.
