I hate to say it, but I think the western conference playoff teams are set. The Rockets are not one of them. I am writing this as the Rockets trail 38-21 to the Hawks. Even if the Rockets come back to win this, the way they started this game has proven to me that the Rockets are in no way a playoff team. Lets hope they develop some more chemistry, and come on strong next year.

The Blazers have lost to the Clippers twice, and to the Grizzlies at home last night. The Lakers were beaten by 25 at home by the Clippers. Are they not playoff teams? We WILL win this game, and we WILL be in the playoffs.

Your argument is flawed. The Blazers have also beaten good teams like the Spurs, Jazz, and Lakers. When the Rockets can not beat teams like this, they have to beat the bad ones. Its now an astonishing 21 point lead for Atlanta, 47-26. There is no way the Rockets should ever trail an 18-43 team by 21 points. Playoff teams do not get blown out by lottery teams. Playoff teams do not struggle to score against 18-43 teams. They might lose a close game now and then, but they are never destroyed like the Rockets are today. No playoffs this year. The way they're playing, I wonder if they'll make the postseason in the next two years. This is inexcusable, and embarassing. The Hawks are just outhustling Houston, and you can't have that.

The Rockets have beaten good teams like the Lakers, Sixers, and Knicks. What's your point?

Again, explain the Lakers 25 point loss against the Clippers. They lost by 25, to a lottery team, struggled to score, were destroyed, etc. They've beaten good teams, but we have as well. It is almost an exact simularity. So why are the Lakers not doomed after a bad game?

The east explains everything. Look at that 1-14 record against the west's best.
Sure, the Lakers lost to the Clips, but that was one game. The Rockets have played just like this against the Clippers TWICE, the Warriors, and the Celtics. That can't happen.

Um... the Warriors game was without Steve and Mobley. One of the Clips games was without Steve for a half, getting us into a big hole. The Celtics are a playoff team as of right now. Anybody can lose when they are missing their best players. That's not evidence.

The Celts were not a playoff team at the time. Sure, the Rockets were shorthanded in some of those games, but that does not mean they can't play with hustle and intensity. Give it up Cat. This loss would put the Rockets 5 games out with 21 left, and the schedule isn't too easy in April. Lets just see how many games above .500 the Rockets can get.

I won't give up until we're mathematically eliminated. Have you seen the Twolves schedule in April? They have the Lakers twice, Blazers twice, Kings, Jazz, Suns, Rockets, Mavs, and more all in the last month. If we are just within 4 games by April, we'll have a legit shot.

Not when you can't beat the Hawks. They trail by 20 bloody points at the half. I could understand a 2 point loss, but 20?

The Hawks scored 59 points in the first half. They only need 29 more to get their team average! The way the Rockets are playing, it looks like the Hawks are going to get that in half a quarter.

So cat, tell me why the Rockets are playing with so little intensity and hustle. Why are they playing like this? What's your excuse? I'll tell you what I think. I think the Rockets are a team with no heart. There's no one on the team to inspire them into trying harder, so when they fall behind by 20, they give up. I fully expect more carnage in the second half. This is a heartless team, for now.

Lakers lost to the Clips by 25. They seem ok.

Because we are missing our two best big men and we are just getting outplayed. Whether you recognize it or not, games like this happen to every team. Some games your team just doesn't have it. I still think we can win this game, but if we don't, it is one game and we just are injured and don't have that fire tonight. I can give you examples of games like this from pretty much every team in the NBA. Are they heartless too?

Playoff teams might lose one, maybe two games like this, but not 6 or 7. This applies to all games where the Rockets have come out and given it 12 percent. The Lakers are the defending champions, and around 20 games above .500. A team struggling to make the postseason, like the Rockets, should NEVER come out and play with so little intensity. Maybe earlier in the season it was excusable, but not when you're desperately trying to make the playoffs towards the end of the season.
The Rockets need to go about 16-6 to make the playoffs. I can easily point out 10 guaranteed losses in the schedule. The Rockets need to take care of the weak teams, and get a few upsets along the way to have a chance. This is NOT one of the losses I planned on. Now the Rockets need to beat one of the elite teams that would have been an excusable loss.

You are sad. You call yourself a fan? Believe for goodness sake! That is the point of sports-- believing that you, your team, or whomever can do it! Now you go off calling certain games "guaranteed losses"? Just try, for once, to go into games with an open mind that we can win, and if we lose, look for the positives. Think before you act. Don't get irrational. These things happen to every team, and if you can't take it then I suggest you might as well stop being a sports fan-- these games will happen.

Rockets have cut it to 10, and are showing some heart, If they pull this off, they might improve my outlook on the season a bit. Its nice to see them playing with emotion. They need to keep it up.

Atlanta up 94-92. Once again, the Rockets Defense has completely collapsed in the fourth quarter, and they are missing free throws. They have had countless chances to pull away, and yet they have given up layups and putbacks to the Hawks on every Atlanta posession. The Rockets are out of energy, and it looks bleak. Very bleak. This would be a devastating loss, coming back from 20 down to lose by 2 or 3. They have to win this game, or I predict a massive losing streak.

ZRB is right....and having watched so many great Rockets teams over the years, we of all fans should be able to easily tell that this team just doesn't have the experience and leadership right now to get to the playoffs
