A trade to the playoff hungry bulls can land us a third scorer and a star small forward. Here is the deal: Chicago trades: PF Marcus Fizer (11.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg in 21.3 minutes) SF Jalen Rose (22.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.8 apg in 40.9 minutes) Chicago receives: SF Bostjan Nachbar (2.1 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5.5 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: -1.1 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and -1.6 apg. Houston trades: SF Bostjan Nachbar (2.1 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5.5 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) Houston receives: PF Marcus Fizer (11.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg in 38 games) SF Jalen Rose (22.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.8 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: +1.1 ppg, -6.9 rpg, and +1.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Chicago and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Chicago and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Our Roster: Ming/Meech Fizer/Taylor/Braggs Rose/A.griffin JJ/Pike SF/Norris/Wilks Bulls Roster: Cato/Curry/Blount Chandler/Griffin/Baxter Pippen/Nachbar Mobley/Robinson Crawford/Hinrich/Norris Do you think the bulls will do it I DO --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jalen Rose IS better then Mobley but not that much better. And we would also not have anyone to play our guard positions besides Francis Moochie and Pike.
Rose makes max money, and is only a 2nd or 3rd complimentary player and is 30+. I think I'll pass... I'm not a big Mobley fan, but he's better than Rose right now and will obviously be in the future. We might as well trade Yao for Zo.
i dont think its right to trade three hard working guys, just because of one guy's screw ups. besides, griffin has about as much trade value now as jason williams, would you make that trade?
Jay Williams, as hurt as he is, has a hell of a lot more trade value tahn EG. Teams would rather take a risk with an injured player than a PR nightmare. Honestly, what the hell would the other 28 teams in the league see in Eddie? Other than having an uncommitted player with off the court issues? Eddie is probably the last guy in the NBA who anyone wants right now. Maybe if he actually had talent...
That is stretch. I must have a lot more trade value than J. Williams then. As unskilled as I am, I can walk, run, and jump on my own, much better than JW. He is done, no more b'ball for him, alright? Comparing JW to EG is like comparing 0 to 0.
I like what I saw in recent games. Preseason is over and it is not time to make trades for no particular reasons. Stop the trade talk. We will do that next summer if needed.
I will never forgive Jalen for the cheap flagrant foul he gave Elie. It forced Mario to the injured list for half a year. Rose never apologized. I hate him more than all the Jazz, past and present, combined.
Rose will make in the vicinity of $14m/yr for 4 more years and will turn 31 in January. The trade leaves us with Meech or Mo backing up Yao and an undersized (by WC standards) Fizer backing up MoT or trying to fit into a SF logjam...what do I say? NO. Let's wait until around January to see how JVG has fit these pieces together.
