where in the hell did this guy come from?

I know its only a few preseason games but you got to admit he is playing pretty solid.

He kind of reminds of Malik Rose - short, stout and powerful.

He plays position defense much better than Eddie. when he's on the block down low he's on the block down low, you're not going to back him down. i like that.

He cuts well to the basket and has real good hands.

and he is developing a habit of positioning himself in the right spot to snag offensive rebounds.

just thought i throw something positive out here, since Eddie's circumstances are overshadowing all the positive things that are happening with this team.

btw, can anyone come up with a good nickname for Braggs?

I caught the Rox/Spurs game, and he looked pretty good. I'm not sure where he fits in the rotation, but with Griffin out for a while, he might grab a spot.

Living in.......er Dallas, last nite was my first look at the Rox. I was impressed with their intensity, team defense and they way they distributed the ball. JVG really making an impact - can't wait to get Pike, MoT and the "other" Griffin back. And Yao is already miles ahead of last year getting low post position - where he's damn near unstoppable.

But Braggs really showed me something: strong aggressive rebounder, got several nice assists, played good D, and has a good midrange jumper. With EG out, he's a pleasant surprise.

    I'm stoked :)

I really like what I saw! Knows his role, didn't force shots, and hustled for rebounds and loose balls. He looks as if he's in great shape and played some really good D. I hope he makes the team.

Dallas Rocket, man I hope you get that NBA package deal so you can watch the games this year. take it from me, its going to be sweet humdinger of a year.

GreenVegan and CMiller I think its a given he makes the team.

here's a nickname i just came up for him: El Torre Braggadicio.

sounds like a cool name for new mixed drink heh. what do you think? got something better?

It was noticeable for just a short tim, that his got some pretty good work ethics in a sense that he can play D, Reb and handle the ball real good. Man are'nt we loaded with arsenal this year!!

Yeah. He's a Xavier guy...that's what Bill Walton said. Like Tyrone Hill and all those guys..

    He's strong...big enforcer.

In the beginning, he made some boneheaded turnovers and mistakes...but he's just a rookie and he's learning...at least I think he's a rookie. He's learning through experience. He has huge arms but he can still play like a small forward although I wouldn't recommend it. I would like to keep him on like 10 day contracts until our issues are settled..

Maybe he's going to be our Hawkins for this year. Not in the style of play, obviously, but in that he's a hard-working older rookie who brings with him plenty of professional experience. He's played in the CBA and the ABA, and in pro leagues in Spain, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Israel, the Philippines and Greece (where he was a league all star). He's had NBA tryouts with Utah and Detroit.

    Sound familiar?

If they can't trade him, the Knicks are likely to cut Othella Harrington by Monday. If he's available, would anyone be interested in picking him up for the vet's minimum? Or is everyone content with Braggs?

    Stat line from last year:

G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG
    74 64 25.0 .508 .000 .820 2.20 4.20 6.40 .8 . 16 .31

    TO PF PPG
    1.22 3.10 7.7

Othella's still only 29. Seems like he'd be older than that.

    What do you guys think?

I thought Muoneke and Scales had pretty good preseasons. What happened?

I always like Othella. Maybe after we cut Griffin or he goes to jail...

    Hi guys.

I'm a Xavier fan, and as someone who watched Torraye in the 2 years he was at X, I'll give my input. He was an excellent player at X and he was a teammate of James Posey in both years. He was a very hard nosed player inside player and it seemed that some of his college opponents were almost afraid of him.

I remember that he had 20 rebounds in a game against Rhode Island (and Cuttino Mobley :D ) and he left quite a positive impression.

He was drafted in the 2nd round (I think) by Utah, but never caught on with them because of the NBA strike. He decided to play overseas instead. He's been trying to make it back to the NBA since. It's great to see him on the Rockets.

Too bad "HeHateMe" is taken, just call Braggs "6FoulsAndACloudOfDust."

He's a no-name rook, playing 4 in the West, our 5 is Yao Ming...
let's just say Braggs will be raising his hand and saying "I Got Him" a lot this year. ;)
