Did not see this any where else: Hakeem Olajuwon left the game in the first quarter and did not return after straining his calf muscle 10 minutes into the game. "I don't know what happened, it's just swelling," he said. "I went to the doctors because of the history of this leg. I wanted to see if it was a blood clot, but it wasn't." ------------------
Hakeem has a calf strain and is listed as questionable for the game. To make matters worse(since we have yet to beat the Clips this season), Mo Taylor is also listed as questionable with an Achillies injury. I assume it's just a strain since he is only questionable. ------------------ "Clinton lied. Yep, I had read that, but I was unaware that he had it checked for a blood clot. Of course, that might be standard procedure. Thank goodness it just a strain. Hopefully Mo's leg feels better and Dream won't be out for more than just 2-3 games. ------------------
Remember when Mo landed on Eisley during the Mavs game? He came up limping pretty bad. I hope he has had time to recover for tonights game against the Clipps. ------------------
I'd like to see Mo stay out until that thing is healed. We need him now, but what's the point of winning a couple games at the expense of aggitating that problem and making it worse...maybe even longer term? Besides, it'll give KT and others a chance to show their stuff against the weaker* teams. *weaker teams in this case means in the general sense - not necessarily how they have performed vs. the Rockets ------------------ "I hate every ape I see - from chimpan-a to chimpanzee. Yeah, I wouldn't be suprised to see Mo in street clothes again tonight, although he probably wants to be a part of ripping up his former team. I wonder about Dream too. I dunno if he'll suit up or not. If we have one of em in the game, then the other should rest. No point in killing everyone over a Clippers game. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
Did anyone see what he was wearing on the sidelines last night...they truly were "street clothes". Most guys out of uniform wear a nice suit or some nice clothes, but Mo is the first that I've seen wearing blue jeans with a t-shirt and a blue jean jacket over that. I love Mo but someone needs to give him some fashion tips. ------------------ "Steve is good. Steve is real good." -- Cleveland's rookie point guard Andre Miller on Rocket rookie point Steve Francis
Some teams have a required dress code for when you're at the game but not suited up. This usually means they're wearing coats & ties, or something close. I guess the Rockets don't have that same dress code. Didn't Barkley used to wear black t-shirts & casual khakis? I wouldn't necessarily wear what Mo was wearing, but I'm glad he didn't have to put on his best duds just to go to a basketball game. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
Dream has always been OVERLY cautious about injuries. He diagnoses himself, and gets really worried. I would not be surprised to see him in the lineup tonight. At least, I hope he is. DaDakota ------------------ Go Jazz * http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/011403.html
