Great come from behind win for the Rox tonight.

While I was checking the standings I noticed that the Mavs had 23 losses and both the Suns and Wolves have 24. In about a week the Mavs start a stretch of games that will see them loose over and over. There is no doubt in my mind that by the time April rolls around that the Mavs will be in 8th spot with Phoenix and Minnesota occupying the 6th and 7th spots. Where will we be?

Hopefully we will be right on the Mavs tail. The April 3 game may be the most important game of the season for us. If we beat the Mavs then we will own any tie breaker against the Mavs. If we loose then the Mavs will own the tie breaker based on conference records.

Here is my request to everyone. Look at the Mavs schedule from here on out and tell me what you think their record will be during this last stretch of the season. Don't worry about final records just this current stretch of games starting Friday the 9th.

I think the best they can hope for is 9 wins and 11 losses.

Then look at the Rockets games and tell me what you think the Rockets record in their remaining games will be.

I think the Rockets record will be 16 wins and 5 losses.

Will that be enough to propell us into the play offs? Check the schedules and the records and tell me what you think or if you think this is realistic.

Dallas is entering a tough stretch of games, no doubt. I feel that they can expect 12 losses in their next 21 games, maybe even more since they have a hellish road trip that goes Utah-Portland-Lakers-Houston-Sacramento in which I could reasonably see them losing all five games.

However, I think that Phoenix will fall out of the playoffs, and the Mavs and Rockets will be fighting for seeding.

The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.

If you ask me, not only do I think they have a chance for 8th seed, but 7th and 6th as well. You need to check Phoenix and Minnesota's schedule as well. We have 2 games left against the Suns and 1 against the Wolves to gain ground.

    Just you watch.

    Crash,

I agree we with you about your prediction. We will be fighting Dallas for the last spot, I also believe we will take the last playoff spot from Dallas. At the present time Dallas is already looking a head to the playoffs and that will be there down fall.

This is going to one interesting race...

The Rockets are a playoff team. They proved it tonight. They will grab the sixth seed, and knock out both Phoenix and Minnny. It will be Rockets-Mavs in the conference finals, and the Rockets will beat them. They will then claim the title in 5 games over Philly. It will happen, just watch.

The thing about the Rockets schedule on the way out is not that it doesn't have a couple good teams on there, it does. What strikes me about it is that the good teams are interspersed with the bad teams so that if the Rockets should lose, then they can recover against a weaker foe - whilst the other teams all have several games against tough teams in a row where they could easily fall into a slump.

A while ago: We're only 4 games behind Suns for 8 (while in 11th ourself) and th Suns have the hardest remaining schedule in the league.

Then Wolves start losing and go down to 8th: we're only 4 games behind Wolves, and look at their schedule - lets catch the Wolves.

And now Mavs have the hardest schedule remaining lets catch them.... AND ROCKETS HAVE THE EASIEST SCHEDULE REMAINING in the league. I say lets catch one of them [IMG] Well I'll bring back my thread we're I compares all schedules - even Sonics and Denver. Check it out and make your predictions.

I'm not that big on finding URL but I'll try finding it and bumping it to the top.

Who can list how much getting to the playoffs would help this team??

    Here are a few positives:

-It helps in the Webber chase, he'd rather be joining a playoff team.

-Playoff experience for the younger guys.

-Helps in re-signing Shandon, since he loves the playoffs..

-Brings the confidence up for next season..

    anyone got anything to add?

I would say the biggest benefit of going to the playoffs is that you have chance to become national champion really. Dont you!
