Because Denver has great assets and is more willing to make a trade than Ainge who is all talk. Their owner will be willing to pay whereas Ainge will want to lowball. Denver first and then Phoenix then Miami. Phoenix and Miami are about to have a top 5 pick this draft and they have also good young prospects/players to trade away. Plus their managment and ownership will go all in in trying to trade for Butler.
What are Denver's great assets that they'd move? Asking seriously... I don't know. Doesn't seem like they have any extra picks. Doesn't seem like they have a ton of players that are super exciting. I don't think they move Jokic, and the rest, even the young guys like Mudiay/Murray wouldn't get me too excited as a GM.
Murray is absolutely regarded as one of the best young prospects with the way he's been shooting. As far I remember Denver must have some extra first picks coming up. Then they can get first rounders or other assets for Chandler and Gallo. Then there's Nurkic and Garry Harris. Denver has prospects + roleplayers they can trade for other picks. All that without trading Jokic. Kroenke is desperate to get a star. He will overpay if given the opportunity. Whereas in the case of Boston nope. Doesnt' matter if you have Bkn picks if you are not willing to put them on the table for real.
??? he's a 33% three point shooter and a 42% 2 pt shooter to date. That's not exactly great. He's 4-24 on threes in his last 7 games. I get that its possible to still rank him as a solid prospect. He is only 19 years old. Just pointing out to date, his play on the court doesn't speak to future greatness. It can certainly change. http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed Looks like they get a 1st this year via Cleveland from the Grizzlies. That's currently the 23rd pick I believe. Gallinari is basically a free agent, so they won't get a ton back for him. Chandler, Harris and Nurkic could net them ok returns. I have no doubt the Nuggets really want a star. And no doubt they'd go as far as offering Murray, Harris, Nurkic and picks. I'm just not sure that puts them in the lead. One would have to assume Ainge would finally be willing to move those Nets picks for Jimmy Butler. And if he won't, feels like something from the Suns along the lines of Knight, Warren, 2017 #1 pick is a better deal than whatever Denver can offer. Or what the Twolves might be willing to do. I just don't think denver would be in the lead.
Bulls are as dysfunctional of an office as you can get, dump everyone else and the coach and start over. I'm sure he's excited to get out of there. Bos got dibs if this is true.
He's shot the three well enough in past seasons....he's a good FT shooter..so Morey may deduct that with more practice and the open shots James provides he'll shoot it decently here....it would really depend on what we'd give up, but it's probably too much to pull the trigger and who knows how the chemistry will turn out.
The haul JB would require would absolutely destroy our depth. Not worth blowing up our team + future for a player that does not fit our style of play.
I'm going to go in a random order here so don't take the list order seriously. This are the 10 best players in the NBA. 1. LeBron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Chris Paul 4. Stephen Curry 5. James Harden 6. Russell Westbrook 7. Kawhi Leonard 8. Anthony Davis 9. Paul George 10. Karl Anthony Towns
er Murray has a great shot. It's only a matter of time to get his % up in the nba as well. Thought the Mem 1st was for next year. Gallo can probably net an ok prospect, Chandler can absolutely net a first and Harris can get a low lottery first. (unless his injury hs been more serious than I thought). Barton can get another low 1st. I would personally take that package of three good prospects (Nurkic, Harris, Murray + 2 first) over a BKN pick and Brown. But it all depends WHEN the trade will happen. Right now it's pre full tank mode around the league. Miami has already started tanking with imaginary back spasms flu symptoms and shutting down players for surgeries. When the Suns Dallas Magic and Knicks are starting tanking BKN is bound to get some wins. IF however the trade happens during the draft and the BKN 2017 pick is confirmed to be top 4 then I take it over the Denver package. Unless they throw in Jokic. Which reminds me..if Denver wants to sell to get firsts for Butler I would be all in for Houston to trade their first + KJ for Garry Harris. The Wolves I'm not sure will be willing to trade Wiggins or Lavine yet. I think that as much as a carte blanche Thibs may have that will create problems with the owner.
I know it's not in order but Chris Paul needs to get some hate for his losing consistency. Doesn't impress me anymore.
