The unsung hero of this season? Jeff Bzdelik

I'm curious as to what made the switch go off in December for the Rockets...especially with Capella going down and losing rim protection.

Bzdelik for Prez 2020. That guy is amazing at his job. Its actually fun to watch our team on defense now. The rotations and the help defense are solid as ever and now we have guys that have bought in and are putting in the effort to hustle.

It doesn't look like the 4th best defense but I'll take it

I feel like this is all a dream. I keep thinking that the Rockets are eventually going to do what all Houston sports teams do to us. I'm keeping my expectations as low as possible and just enjoying the ride.

Last time this happened in the 2014-2015 season, I went all in during the playoffs and bought season tickets for the next year just to guarantee my seats throughout the playoffs. I figured if the Rockets made it to the finals, there was no way in hell I would not be there. If the Rockets have a similar forecast this postseason, I'll definitely be going all in again.

We played some pretty crappy teams in December except for San Antonio and the Warriors.

The difference it's also related with schedule, much easier in December than November, but no doubt our D has improved along the season. Practices making a difference there (coaching staff helping winning games). Once Clint and Pat come back I think the team can steadily be a top-10 defensive team. The defensive system has succesfully changed, the individual habits have improved, typical mistakes at 1on1 D have been corrected on several players (including Harden, who is not going for the steal that often and is staying solid at 1on1, or Beverley), and the defensive level of the summer signings it's been better than expected, with RA being physically limited but disciplined and OK technically (including p&r D, help defense and defensive rebounding), Nene coming in great shape and showing great focus/feet speed/intensity, and Gordon being surprisingly effective even against most of PGs, especially when it matters most, at tight games.

Ryan Anderson has deceptive defensive intensity to go with his sneaky athleticism. Quite a deadly combo of secret weapons.
