PLEASE ONLY POSITIVE POSTS IN THIS THREAD!! Cutino Mobley in his last 6 games has averaged 24.83 Pts/game; 7.33 boards on .438 shooting. also Cuttino has scored in double didgets for 30 streight games. not since Nov. 21 has he scored less than 11 pts. Cuttino has also added 3 double doubles to his Resume since Jan 13th. This is a player who had previously had just one double double against the clippers in 99(the same night as Odoms first NBA trip dub) in his 3 yr career. Im sure some of you have love for other rockets players like I love the Cat, feel free to add your own tribute. PEACE ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
We beat the grizzles , a lottery team for years to come. Good job, you have jinxed Mobley. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Cat is great, as is Steve, but I decided to use my accolades here to give Mooch some run. I love nothing more than watching Norris run the offense with Steve as the 2 guard. He sees the floor very well, is quick and intelligent with his passes, and rarely looks to create for himself when there are so many other competent offensive threats on our team (and this despite the fact that he has one of the greatest cross-overs I have see in a Rockets guard). And how could not love the guy with that 'fro! ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" YUP< I jinxed Mobley!! get your negativity out of my thread Cat had another great game. ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball http://www.hanta-force.com
My applause goes to Walt for it was his block and three late in the game that sucked the momentum out of Charlotte. "Its bad bizz to mess with the Wiz"-Bill Worrell ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
I can't say that the wins against Vancouvar and Charlotte have really brightened my mood the last couple days, cause it would acdtually be more accurate to say that they only validated how I feel about the developement about this team. It doesn't hurt so much to lose a down to the wire game against a team that is supposed to be better than us anyway, as long and we can continue to pound teams that are clearly not our equal. There's no better sign of a maturing team than the ability to win games you're supposed to win. How can you not be excited about the future? ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Nice thread guys, think i have said all i wanted about Cat. Great to see such a positive thread considering two games ago people where ready to burn Cat at a Stake for one single airball...... ------------------ CUT Tino These Heaves are just getting Ridiculous!
I'm most proud that he is running a pnr roll play. I was worried he couldn't do it. I think his assists are about ready to go up too with 24 high as he and the team get comfortable with the plethora of passing options that can develop on that play. I'm also seeing Francis pushing the fastbreak more. Has anyone noticed how they can get it up in 4 on 4 situations, and get it to Mobley for an ISO or quick pnr and utter fear strikes the opposition cause Mobley has the ball and their D isn't set, yet. In the passed 3 games, I recall about 3 quick strike Mobley drives in a secondary transition set. Keep pushing it Stevie; we can score on a 4 on 4!!!!! And Mo' can flat out shoot.
You guys knew I couldn't stay out of this thread for very long. Positive stuff- I like it! I'll use my post as a tribute to Mo Taylor. (man I bet you guys are stunned) Ever since the first month of the season which Mo was plagued with adjusting to a new team, inconsistent minutes, and foul trouble, he has gone a long way toward becoming the PF of the future for us. He's scored in double figures in 18 of his last 19 games. He's had 7 or more rebounds in 12 of those 19 games (most of those 12 having AT LEAST 9 or 10). He's one of the top 10 shooters percentage wise in the NBA,(shooting over 50%) which is an especially great achievement considering how many jumpers he takes. Mo is an intregal part of our future as well. He's a very likeable guy who is hardworking, coachable, and has great character. He has a hook shot in the post and other post moves that haven't been utilized much by Rudy. And of course he can dribble the ball, cross over defenders, consistently hit from 18-20 ft, etc. He also is very unselfish with the ball, and he even did an excellent job of playing center in the 12 games Hakeem was out. Mo also really likes the Rockets, as evidenced by several recent articles, and wants to stick around. One of the greatest examples of how far Mo has come was the other night against Philadelphia. On the second night of a back to back, it was obvious he just didn't have his shot. He shot 4-18, and many PFs with such a great offensive game would just quit and give up. But he didn't. Mo stayed in there for 44 minutes, grabbing 9 boards and playing excellent post defense on Theo Ratliff. Shooting wise it was his poorest game of the season, but he also was very impressive in how hard he continued to work on defense and the boards. Keep up the good work Mo!!! ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. I am reviving this old thread of mine simply because i feel the need. I would like to comend Kalvin Cato for coming back from injury, and actually playing like we know he should. Maybe he will never lead the league in rebounds, but as long as he shows heart and tries like he did tonight all is well in the world. Furthermore i want to give love to the rockets for their massive come from way way behind win. The future is soooo bright, and the presens isnt half bad either. PEACE ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com
Once we make our moves in the offseason the Rockets will be one of the teams to beat in the West. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
The Only reason Cato couldn't be our center is his not trying. I would love a team of Francis and Mobley, then Cato and Webber, then a young stud we trade up with our multiple picks to grab. ------------------ The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?
Props to Kelvin Cato! As he said in the post-game interview "I hope I can do this in the next game, and the next, and the game after that" He sounded like he was looking forward to the chance, and was very frustrated with his injuries this season. Let's see him either prove to the Rockets that he is the defensive man in the middle for the next ten years, or play well enough to have teams dying to have him. I think Webber would also be more likely to come here if he had the assurance that he would get to stay at PF. ------------------ Ex-Canuck loving life and the Rox in H-town
