I didn't see another thread for this. Looking to trade BK Kim. Any takers? Looking for hitting all across the board.
Scanning the old trade talk thread... Are these people still being shopped? Rolen. Alfonzo. Marques. Abreu.
Rolen is still available. I am extremely interested in Kim, if there's something we can work out give me an email or talk to me on AIM.
Okay, I am putting young OF Cody Ross on the block. Cody is a G-G-G and is average in doubles and brilliant in avoiding strikeouts. He is available because I need another solid SP since Rheinecker struggled and Mieses has become a bust (Santana is still a year or two away). Since I need ML help now, the starter needs to be one that has at least a "6" in avoiding runs, preferably a "7". Also, with 4 players that make 8 figures, I cannot take on huge contracts. I would prefer that they are rookie contracts or less than 5 million per season. Also, since Ross is 24, I would like for the pitcher I get back to be in their 20's but definitely not older than 32. Several people have expressed interest already. Once Chuck initializes the new season, that will give me a better indication on what I feel is the best offer. So, offer away and send offers to my email: jfyoung@charter.net.
well, with the youth movement in full force, I'm going to put SP Terry Adams on the block. He's 32 years old. 2005: 2.48 ERA, 185 IP 2004: 2.65 ERA, 217 IP, 23-4 I'm looking primarily for younger help at catcher and 2B. I could also use some bullpen help, but only as a throwin - not the focus of the trade. If interested, send me an email at SlamDuncan2121@aol.com.
Pudge is looking on this real life baseball thing going on and he realizes he gots to be on the marlins simwise also. You have no need paying that much for a 34 year old player Manny.
On a completly different matter. I got a tdev for Will Smith prior to the new season moving him to my #3 prospect. (Not listed anymore as it is the new season and he's 25). This makes for a whole lot of talented batters coming up from my minors. OF Gowins OF Stokes OF Hermida OF Smith OF Thorp IF McCammon SS Clyde SS Ramirez SS Cabrera C Pickel C Wysong Some of course better than others, but all with good chances of being productive for someones MLB team. I doubt very much that I will be trading Gowins though.
Are you saying that you are interested in Pudge? It would be hard for me to trade him, Heath, especially considering that leaves Doug Mirabelli, *shudder*, as my starter. But, I will listen to any offers as I need to get better at 1B and younger at C and 3B plus a lefty relief specialist would be nice as well.
I'd give you Lunsford - he's a younger and capable catcher (GFA) and I'll add in Lee (AGG) who should improve your production from the 1B spot. I'm afraid I do not have anything at 3B, but I guess I could offer up Geotz (GGAG) as a lefty relief specialist.
Let me think about it and I will let you know something later today. Also, what is Lunsford's contract? His profile acts like he is a free agent by saying "Minor League Contract".
a reminder to everyone: Rolen is still on the block. He has a great OBP, good power and the best 3B defense in the game. I'm looking for help at 2B, 1B, C, and bullpen, and possibly at SP. Let me know if anyone is interested...
Oh. I see what you mean about Lunsford. He however should be on automatic contract for 2 more seasons at 100k a year. As it is now I guess I'm paying him even less?
Okay, Heath, I thought about this as I was doing my workout and as your present offer stands, it is a decent one, but there are a couple of things: 1) I-Rod is an OPS monster - since joining the Cubs, he has had OPS of .967, .949, and .844 Granted, you can't take a simple average of those 3 to see what is overall average for OPS as a Cub is, but I am guessing that he has a 3 year average of over .900 when it comes to OPS. That right there makes it very tough for me to give up because I have always valued that type of production. 2) Derrek Lee perplexes me. Looking at his ratings, this is a guy who should NOT be producing sub .800 OPS seasons, but he has for the last 2 seasons. Yea, there is always the possibility that 2006 will be one of his better seasons, but he has proven that he is not a "lock" for an .800+ OPS season. Ratings wise, he is an upgrade over Spiezio (but hardly a significant one), but stat wise aka production wise, he and Spiezio are comparable. 3) Lunsford's fair in homers bothers me. I noticed that he had an OPS over .800 this past season, but he has only really played one full season, so who knows if he is capable of doing that every season? 4) Goetz reminds me of Rheinecker....good ratings and promising but yet to play in the majors. He could be a bust like Rheinecker (at least so far, he might turn things around) so I am leery of obtaining guys who didn't even play in the majors the previous season. I'm guess I am different from most in that I really scrutinize statistics. I don't care if a guy is a fair, or God forbid a poor, if he performs at an .800 OPS level or an era under 4, then I will be interested in him. Now, I have been fooling around with possible counter offers to you and this is one that you may like or may not like: Florida trades to Chicago: Trey Lunsford (I need a catcher) Derrek Lee OR Jermaine Dye (Jack can play 1B if needed and has played it in the past) William Collins Brad Penny (the one starter that you probably value the least right now) in exchange for: Ivan Rodriguez (the whole reason for this deal) Mark Prior (still the best starter I have) Scott Spiezio (have no place for him, well he could play 2B but then I would have to get rid of Ellis and I would rather rid myself of Spiezio's contract) Mike Buddie (reliever that is a righty but solid and one of my higher rated ones) I know that you would not want to give up Collins since he is young and brilliant in hits, but you are still getting one of the best starters back in Prior and a solid veteran reliever in Buddie plus you win in this deal when it comes to hitting. It is a big deal that I have proposed, but that is about the only way that I see myself dealing Pudge right now - as part of a big deal.
I'm putting CL Jeremy Lambert (GGGG) on the block. He's in AAA. I'd like to upgrade one of my SP spots so multi-player deals are what I'm looking for. Jimerson, Blanco, Koskie, and Zambrano are in the mix as well. I'd also like to trim some salary off the books, or possible trade a player who's up for an extension after this year for someone who has a few years left on the $100,000 pay scale. That includes Osuna, Zambrano, Alfonzo, Durocher, and Varitek. Let me know via e-mail if interested. jphillips88@hotmail.com
Oh, I guess I should mention that I will listen to offers for Prior. But expect for me to get a pitcher back that is a "7" in avoiding runs.
Manny, if it would make any difference I could swap Geotz with the more proven Nunez. If it does I need an answer quick as I'd have to find a replacement in FA, thus this offer is only good for a few hours. (I'm off to work).
