I wished to have J. Posey back

    Has anyone noticed how well J. Posey plays in Memphis uniform. Tonight in 27 minutes, like the other games, he has 6-9 2-5 3-4 0 8 4 0 2 0 4 17.

    Obviously, his number is way better than J. Jackson's 30 minutes in the Denver game: 2-8 1-1 0-0 2 3 0 1 0 0 3 5.

While JJ's defence is not bad, JP is even better. Now JP's outside shot is falling. That is exactly what we need to supplement the inside-outside game.

Well, it is too late now. Maybe we could trade EG for Posey back. Haha.

    :D :D :D

Rockets are banking on Jim Jackson + Pike will be able to give the Rockets similar defense (JJ) and more offense (Pike) than Posey would have provided and at a fraction of the cost of Posey's contract.

I like Posey but I think JJ+Pike will do well for this team.

    Posey is overpaid.

Good player, but not at that price.

Preseason is preseason. Last year, EG had great preseason games, and where was he after season started?

This team would be better with JPo than AG and Pike. Or JJax (who was Rice).

Shame he is not only gone, but to a team which 'scares' me. They are making great progress -- and could wind up with Kobe after this season.

Yes. I can remember how excited we were when we got Posey last year. For whatever reason, he did not play well in Rudy (or France) system. Watch how he rockets in the scary team!

No, I am not. Haha, Grizzlies is my second favourite team because of all their high picks.

It'd be very interesting to see THAT (Kobe on the Grizz). Then they'd have Posey, Miller, Battier, Person (off the books?), and Kobe...talk about a logjam at 2/3...

    Wrong.

Majority was not that excited about Posey - they were just happy to see the log jam at the 4-position and the weak SF taken care of. IMO it had little to do with Posey the person.

Currently Posey is overpaid so good riddance. I will take the combination of Pike, JJax and AGriff (whose combined annual salary match posey's current). Enough of the dead contracts already - we have at least 4 we are still trying to get rid of.

    hmmm..

    1) Mooch -- no argument
    2) Mo -- depends on his play this year, so far I agree
    3) Im sure you are referring to Cato here, but at this point, if he continues playing two positions and playin as well as he has been....i would say his contract isnt a "dead" one.
    4) ??

nah......i like our 3 headed monster in AGriff, Pike, and JJ......and all of em combined make about as much as PoZ. Granted I liked PoZ here......but his price to bring him was to steep for a mediocre player at best.....

Posey's play with the Rockets plain blew last year. I cringed every time the guy got the ball. Not sure why some people here want to have his children.

As has been said, we've got three guys now to take his place, all of which can AT LEAST do for us what Posey did last year (not much). That's puts us in a better position in the case of injuries (like right now).
