I like Gasol, he is only one player with some real potential in that pathetic team. But Gasol is better than Yao? Give me a break. Rockets with Yao will win at least 10 more games than Rockets with Gasol. Ask Memphis to play Gasol at 5, and let him and Yao go 1-on-1, Rockets will blow them away every night.

I thought you guys from Madrid are not really that fond of people from Barcelona...isn't Gasol Catalan?

Oh, and SOME people from Spain do suck...I can confirm this, as I had a Spanish girlfriend for a while.

You are wrong.People from Madrid like Gasol.People from Spain like Gasol. There is rivalry between Madrid and Barcelona, but it isn't that strong.
And yes,Gasol is Catalan and Spanish,so it is logical most of Spanish people like him

I was not entirely serious about that Madrid/Barcelona thing.

So is it true that he runs like a girl?

Norwinski is better player in the moment, but this trade definitely will benifit Dallas more.

    Blasphemy!

Even Costas said Dream was "quite possibly the greatest ever to play the game" including MJ.

    And Costas should know.:p

Seriously, Dream RULES MJ. Need I show you "the frozen block?"

    2 points...

    1) Yao has shown zero inclination to be infatuated with celebrity status. Matter of fact, he complains about the need to constantly have to deal with the media and all the events he is expected to attend since he is famous. A for endorsements...he can make enough where he is at. Just look at the contracts he already has.
LA would be a constant media frenzy...just what Yao wants to have to deal with on an everyday basis..

and on a contract basis..LA will not be able to offer more than Houston can...and I guarentee you that there aint no way Les doesn't pay him the max.

2)Hakeem has stated he is against a statue, it is forbidden by his religion..why would Les go against his wishes?
I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for a statue to be erected .

i agree with your points and hope they are true, but

    1) never underestimate the power of money, although I hope yao never has to don purple and gold

    2) and again, never underestimate the power of money.

Dallas and every fan of the Mavs can stick their present team up their caboose. I hope each player comes up lame or broken, or with typical drug suspensions. If you want to root for Mavs to be title contenders, use their web site to cheer for garbage. If they have a web site, otherwise, send e-mails to the other few idiots that like the Mavs.

Houston fans only, no speculating jerks that covet what they can't have here. Houston is a championship caliber team. Dallas are playoff bound and Westren Conf. finalists at best.

That was my first tantrum, not my last.

You are attributing to Yao an American value system...not the one in which he has been brought up in.

By all accounts,he isnt your normal NBA player in that he is just in it for the money..he plays for the love of the game and for honor and pride.
He just signed a freaking $100Mil shoe contract, while playing in Houston...how much bigger can the endorsements get??
LA is not the end all be all of American basketball, playing for the Fakers doesnt make you a better player, a better man, or a richer person.

He will succeed in Houston, he will be fully supported and treated like family by Houston....Are you saying that it takes more than that to earn his loyalty?
Why in the hell would he go to god-forsaken La-La land just to become richer?
Houston will pay him the max, he will get all the endorsments here that he could get there...the corporations dont care who he plays for, as long as he is a marketable star.

Get over your fascination with LA, they aint that much more sopecial than Houston is..

oh, and one more point...I think you underestimate the size of the Asian population in Houston...

If Yao ever does leave for another team it wouldn't be to LA. If you think he doesn't get enough touches now imagine what will happen with Kobe running the show.

Mark Cuban and Carroll Dawson are not that stupid. Yao and Dirk are fan favorites within their respective cities. Where will the loyalty be if there was a Yao-Nowitsky trade? it's not gonna happen. you'll see alot of pissed off fans in both cities.
    there's a better chance for a Griffin-Bradley trade than a Yao-Nowitzky trade.
you can see Yao dunking between Dirk and Bradley here:
