At this point, you get rid of EG and if it takes Cat and Nachbar so bet it... I like the trade because if Eric Williams doesn't work out then it doesn't matter because he's in his last year... Battie is 6'10 and can play PF because he's undersized as a center(especially in the West)... Battie is not the best big man but he can shoot, block shots and rebound... Thats about the same as EG and guess what he'll play down low... I like the trade to rid ourselves of EG and let Mobley's contract go and if we have to give Nachbar, once again so be it...
We were just a two man team last year and we had a couple of players picking up the slack in mobes and moT but from the additions this off season we are already stronger. We also don't know the extent of cats injury and griff doesn't even wanna play ball anymore so it makes even more sense.
Why should we rid ourselves of Cat's contract? He gives us great stats for a small price... The only Celtic I would EVER take is P.P.
I think I just emailed Carol Dawson, seriously. I tried this email adress that all employees for the rockets have. I sent it about 45 mins ago, and it hasnt come back and a wrong email adress. Im my email, i included that if it was true that he was trying to trade mobley. Me and my other 10 friends will ask for refunds for our season tickets....No response yet. Maybe he did get that email, that would be funny.
If this horrible trade idea is valid, there must be another deal in the works. Rox need a legitimate 3rd scorer and Pike, JJ, Mo aren't the ones to provide that. We're too close to being a playoff team to pull a stupid trade like this w/ out doing something else..
I don't get it. Dallas RAPES Boston and gets Antoine Walker for overpaid Raef LaFrentz and Tony Delk And For Cuttino, Griffin and Nachbar we get Eric Williams and Tony Battie. Just cause they got raped doesn't mean we have to let them rape us.
Battie and Williams are complete garbage. CD needs to get a brainscan if he thinks this is a fair trade.
Why do we want to get rid of Mobley's contract, it's such a deal for what Mobley can do. We shouldn't give up an 18ppg player and a prospect finally coming along just to get rid of someone. Battie would get raped in the western conference no doubt, I see a need for a real POWER forward, but this deal robs us blind.
Griffin is also in his last year if we don't pick up his option. Battie can't play PF any better than Cato. There's no way these 2 guys are worth Mobley. And, there's no way CD and VG hate Mobley as much as folks on this board.
If this is true, there has to be something more to this...I wonder if JVG asked Mobley to come off the bench and he refused. That along with Griffin, he wouldn't be able to tolerate. That's pure speculation, but if it wasn't something like that, this makes little sense. Under no circumstances should we give up Nachbar.
Hopefully its a 3 team trade deal or something. Lafrenz to Boston,Walker to Dallas, M.Finley to Houston, and Mobley and Griffin to Boston. Now that would be nice...
At this point, I don't think this deal's actually going down. I'll be really pissed if it does, though.
