Just a quick search gave me this info.

So do you consider Russia a Democracy? Communism? Totalitarianism?
If presidents only serve 2 six year terms. . .and Putin came to power in 2004
    Shouldn't his time be up?

What exactly kind of government is the Russians implementing?

The limit is only on consecutive terms. So he served 2, then took a break and became Prime Minister, and then came back.

Maybe Trump can do that, once he has become part orange cyborg. After two terms as President, he can become "Prime Minister" (with official quote marks), and then run for President again in future "elections".

Russia is an interesting case based on their history and how it influences the practical running of their government.

    Russia was a democracy.

However, historically and culturally Russians are used to being ruled by an authoritarian government or oligarchy.

Russia has struggled with clashes between an absolute monarchy and an oligarchy.

The titles have changed between oligarchy and monarchy over time, but the one constant is a population that has had little influence or even desire over their country.

Over the last 15 years, Russia has gone from a structure where the oligarchy has primarily had power, to one now where Putin has the oligarchy under his thumb, and exerts a level of control not seen in Russia since Josef Stalin.

Make no mistake, Putin is in absolute control and when the super elite in Russia have not bent to his will, they have been imprisoned, assassinated or exiled and usually killed. There are no exceptions.

The Hair that's placed on Donald runs as COO to the Estonian branch of the Trump Foundation, thus making it eligible to run for office and a possible first presidential term.

    Incorporated entities are people, donchakno.

Russia's government is Putin. And if Trump has his way, he will be the next Putin and never relinquish control. Of course, many people here would be ok with that.

It's the America we voted for...maybe with a tinge of Russian interference.

That's when the law was changed so Russian presidents served 6 year terms instead of 4. That means that he will have been president for 20 out of 24 years by the end of his 4th term. That doesn't include when he was Prime Minister and he controlled the puppet president. The closest comparisons for Americans was FDRs 4 presidential terms which would have spanned 16 years if he hadn't died so soon into his 4th term. He still won his 4th term in a landslide 432 to 99 electoral college victory, carried 36 states and 53.4% of the popular vote. The crazy thing is that was his worst performance in an election. This was held at the tail end of the 2nd world war.

The crazy thing is that in a span of 73 years we had 5 of 13 presidents replaced by their vice presidents due to death or resignation. Are we overdue?

Interestingly enough. . . . a response in the CHINA GOVERNMENT Thread spark my interest
    (Did this one spark that one? If so why? }
    Anyway

    This is the post

I could see Trump supporting a 'democratic' version of this where the 'Central Government' is replaced by the Corporate Elite
Limiting the ability of small businesses and local and state governments.
