Still waiting on that Neo mode game from Mr. Anderson. Maybe, he's saving them for the playoffs and dude would be just fine with that.
That's our strength and use it to the max, nothing wrong with that. That's how Morey builds this team. There is a huge difference between jacking up threes and shooting as many threes to win the game. The pre-Garnet celts loved shooting 3s but nobody took them seriously because they couldn't win. With Harden being so good at attacking and dishing, this is a logical thing to do and our records backs it up.
Yep, starts moving closer to mid court as his range. Ryno is strange for stat seekers. Ryno had 1 of the worst FG% away vs home differential last year....but this year he shoots better away over home. I believe the 14 road games out of the first 20 games threw him off. Now he is more comfortable on the road.
Yes, the Spurs game was a good one despite the loss. It showed me that the Rockets could still run an offense without the Capela/Haden PnR as the catalyst. Good to know that Ariza, Gordon, Ryno can be effective off of curl. I believe they all rated high percentile coming off screens last year. I have more trust in D'Antoni & crew this year recognizing mismatches or adjusting than previous years. When Ariza had the smaller JJ Barea.....Ariza was sent to post him up. If a smaller guy is on Ryno, into the post you go. Someday the media might talk about the high basketball IQ's that the Rockets players have (like the Warriors)......nah. Just kidding. The media is too biased. D'Antoni needs to recognize that Pops will put Leonard on Ryno, but places Kawhi on Harden in crunch time. In hopes of Harden going ISO. We need to go another route or better option than the Harden vs Kawhi showdown. "The Art of War" know thy enemy know thy self......stuff.
There are many variations in the PnR we play as described in the sticky Gordon the professional shooter post. With Harden handling ball at the point, there are a few options we can run. The Capela screen and roll is one of the most effective and yet simple that was proved to be very hard to stop. Capela is very good at timing the slipping off and roll to basket with a good angle and height for Harden to pass it to. It's not the same with Nene or Harrel.
I agree. Capela had his trouble with it earlier in the season but has since got the timing down somewhat. The aspect of playing above the rim much like D'Antoni/Lin to Tyson Chandler or Amare Stoudemire can cause trouble. Harden has to trust Harrell to know when to rise up and where he is expected to be. Both Capela and Harrell have a good catch radius......with time Harrell may get it. As long as the Rockets have 3 good shooters on the perimeter, the other can screen/roll w/Harden or Gordon. In a 5-man, everyone on the court can shoot, Rockets can run the Ryno, Dekker, Ariza, Harden, Bev or Gordon lineup. Vs the Cavs, Love probably has slight advantage over Ryno. Ryno perhaps the better shooter with Love the better rebounder, postups, shot blocker. I laugh on the episode of Open Court (NBA network) where a former player phrases Love for a defensive play against Curry in the finals. Then they show the clip. Heck, Curry was going East & West w/Love in front of him tripping over his own feet. Curry was juking and jiving with K Love in front of him stumbling. It was luck that Curry didn't show a little north and south......Love would have broken ankles. Ryno can play that D.
