Vladimir Putin shares his observations about the aftermath of the US elections, shaming Democrats for their disgraceful behavior, even accusing them of having forgotten the meaning of their own name. He went on to call them sore losers who were trying to shift responsibility for their losses (not just in the presidential race) to external factors. Putin then called out the Democrats for "shamelessly" abusing their status as the ruling party to try to influence public opinion, which is what the content of the leaked emails clearly demonstrated they were doing. "Outstanding figures in American history from the ranks of the Democratic Party would likely be turning in their graves. Roosevelt certainly would be," he said. Putin did not speak to Russian involvement in any hacking, an activity that it is widely acknowledged that we are as routinely involved in as they are. Instead he said who it was that hacked the information was not important, while the activities that the Democrats were engaged in that were revealed certainly were. He dismissed accusations that he or the Russians had tried to help Trump to win, saying "its not like that".
When you let a foreign leader, one of a country we were on the brink of nuclear war with, dictate your political process and look to him for advice...I think there is not much else to be said.
Not remotely, as has been delineated in countless other threads. If you can't separate "Hillary was terrible candidate and Democrats lame" (true) from A freaking foreign dictator has meddled in our political process in an unprecedented way (true according to multiple intelligence agencies, some of whom HATE the Clintons), Then you have some New Years Resolutions to make that would help us as a nation: facing uncomfortable facts that sometimes disagree with your political football team.
Liberals are still banging on about how bad Russia was for exposing the corrupt DNC and how they 'installed' Trump. What they dont understand is that very very few people expected Trump to win. Whoever exposed the DNC was looking to cause trouble for a Hillary Presidency, not so much trying to install Trump.
What kind of bizarre and backwards time period do we live in where Republicans embrace the imperialism of the former head of the KGB and some how believe that he has the best interest of the USA at heart.
Putin now runs American foreign policy. It would not surprise me if the KGB has so much on Trump that they literally do control him. And the right wing poster on here don't even want to entertain that possibility, instead, they see Putin as their new best friend. It's like an episode of the Twilight Zone. America gets a black president and all of a sudden our greatest rival is now a more trusted ally then the other party. We're so screwed as a country. The U.S. might never get away from Russia now - you have to give Putin credit. What they did was absolutely brilliant. It's like they beat their greatest enemy by mind control.
Those other threads were biased to the left just like most of the folks on this site. I appreciate their perspective but which part of this quote is untrue? " He went on to call them sore losers who were trying to shift responsibility for their losses (not just in the presidential race) to external factors. Putin then called out the Democrats for "shamelessly" abusing their status as the ruling party to try to influence public opinion, which is what the content of the leaked emails clearly demonstrated they were doing"
Russia committed a crime by hacking into a political party with the sole intent purposes of influencing the election to help Trump win. If China hacked into Trump's campaign and revealed damaging email exchanges would you be ok with that? The issue isn't that the Dems made mistake or have themselves to blame - the Dems certainly do and they will need to do some soul searching, but what distrubs me is that any attempt to investigate Russia's activity - something that is disturbing to Republicans as well - is being dismissed as being a sore loser. Are you not concerned that Russia is actively trying to influence American politics - something the founders of the constitution were extremely wary of?
Now Putin is an elite hacker h4x0ring his way into all the world government computers. if I listened to the liberals here, I would actually start to respect Putin for all of his amazing skills. Sweet Lou, learn the difference between hacking and phishing. Podesta was exposed through a phishing email, something a 13 year old with basic html knowledge can do. Your party participates in unethical behavior in subverting the political process and colludes with the media. On top of that, they click on password phishing emails that even grandma knows not to click on. There was no hacking in the Podesta emails. He was a moron who does not posses the basic skills to use modern technology. And you want these people to run our country? Quit glorifying Russia and Putin. They are not that crafty. Its just the DNC is that ignorant and corrupt and r****ded. So much they lost to Trump, the chance for the Senate and a sweeping loss across regional and local elections. Your party is the party of fools. When compared to them, they even make Putin look like a genius.
LOL!!! Brink huh? We have been involved in actual wars with many countries(including wars with and against Russia) and we look to many of those country's leaders for political advice(or appear to anyway).... most people call it international relations.
You are trying to defend Russia's efforts to influence American politics and turn Dems and Republicans against one another. Your loyalty to to Republicans first and then the U.S. You'd sell out your country to gain politically. You are a traitor.
Should expect more of this from Putin. He's going to be nice to Trump publicly, send him love letters, agree with him here and there and stroke his ego. And as Trump goes, his followers follow.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...l-college-system-there-is-no-democracy-there/ I'm not in the camp of changing the electoral college system but it is kind of funny he thinks its stupid. Guess goes back to cherry picking quotes from someone as it suits your argument. I'm honestly more concerned with stuff at the local and state level as that impacts me, friends and family how legislation is handled more so than Putin's opinion on the U.S. I'm not optimistic about a Trump presidency but thems the breaks.
