There a few PG's that I would assume most would consider to be pretty close in talent and overall value/effectiveness in the NBA and to their relative team(s).

Please rank these PG's in order from best to worst in your opinions and please say why.

-Chauncey Billups, Mike Bibby, Nick Van Exel, and Tony Parker

    1. NVE. Can set up his teamates and create his own shot. Clutch.

    2. Good shooter, can set people up and run an offense.

    3. Billups. good at creating own shot.

    4. Parker. good at creating, but needs to become more consistant at finishing the play to move up higher.

1.NVE (is he really a PG, or is he more of a 2? Either way, he's the best on this list)

2.Tony Parker (don't like him, but gotta respect him. He's probably the best at gaurding Franchise)

3.Chauncy Billups (a good, consistent PG who doesn't try to do too much)

4.Mike Bibby (boy still hasn't shown me anything since that Lakers series)

NVE - other than his head, he's top notch. Very much a Starbury.

Billups - came into his own latter last year and now has Pt Guard coach/king Brown.

Bibby - talented, fits right with his team. Bobby Jax is better, and cheaper!

Parker - not sold on him yet, but he is still young.

    1. Tony Parker- He showed in the Finals why the Spurs don't need J-Kidd. Enuf said.
    2. Mike Bibby- I thought last year that he was only the 2nd best 1 on his team, as supersub Bobby Jackson has showed he is the best guard off the bench in the NBA besides Nick the Quick. But when he is on, he is both a great distributor and as the Lake Show found out a couple of years ago, a prolific scorer as well.
    3. Nick the Quick- One of the best in the league at creating his own shot, but not much of a distributor. He is one of the few guys who can come off the bench and drop 30 in a milisecond on you.
4.Chauncey Billups- showed last season why the C's drafted him so high. Not a classic point, but one of the best scorers at the one in the league.

    1. Nick Van Exel - Really good scorer. Hasn't had to show his passing ability in some time, so can't really comment on that. He's clutch and can create his own shot as good as anyone his size in the league (except maybe Marbury)
    2. Tony Parker - Has the intangibles. Finally cleaned up his jumpshot. Can somehow finish inside with that floater and just smart play sort of like Stockton. Can't really get his shot off as well as the others. The only real point guard on this list, but there aren't many true PG's anyways.
    3. Chauncey Billups - Not really a point guard at all, but just because of his scoring ability he deserves alot more respect than he gets. He can get assists if he has to, but his strength is scoring. He was unstoppable, and could get his shot off at will in the playoffs. I thought he was just another good 3rd guard coming off the bench in Minnesota. You know the type...like Tony Delk. Light it up every once in awhile, but he's no fluke.
    4. Mike Bibby - A good player, but given too much credit. Without Webber and the pick and roll, he doesn't seem like all that. Doesn't have to create much for others because of the system, but even otherwise is not an amazing playmaker. Is not nearly as good at getting his shot off as NVE or Billups.

1.Nick can pass very well when he wants to. He can also shoot and has the most experience as well. The downside is his age.
    2. Parker Has good passing skills but at times he forgets his role and tries to score too much on his own. His shooting is slowly improving. He is the youngest on the list and can become a better PG.
    3. Bibby. Playing without Webber made it more difficult for him to distribute the ball to everyone. He is the slowest moving player out of the 4 but I think he is a better PG than Billups.
    4. Billups is not a true PG but shoots well, has good size, decent defender. Can pass well on occasions but is inconsistant.

    1) Bibby - can create, pass, and do all those point guard things. Doesn't need to dominate to be good, yet can dominate when needed.
    2) Parker - great at creating, exciting player, lots of potential. will be the best of this group in 3 years.
    3) Billups - solid defender, good shot.
    4) NVE - great off the bench, good shot, good passing...old.

Bibby--not great, but good and much more consistent than the rest.

Billups--tough call with NVE, not quite as explosive as NVE--but enough more well rounded to get the nod.

    NVE (see above)

Parker--Benifits in uncountable ways from the best player in the league right now. Very inconsistent compared with the rest, got displaced by a 40 year old (Kerr) and short PG who can't shoot beyoung 16 feet (Claxton) for some of the most key moments of his teams title run. No question Parker does have the talent to be a top 8 PG--but he has a long way to get there.

Try to be unbiased here : ;)

    1. Mike Bibby, he's the purest PG in the list, best in passing skill and steady play as team tempo leader, so he gets the honor

    2. Tony Parker, not exactly a pass first PG, but certainly has a great ballhandling skill & tempo controlling game. Has the fastest wheel among the rest. Good scoring ability, at high efficiency too.

    3. NV Exel, he's an undersized 2 honestly, but in today NBA, that's a given fact. One badass scorer, and has bigball too with his streakiness. OLD.

    4. Chauncey Billups, good defender, not good enough as a playmaker. Streaky shooting, playing in the east ;)

I also agree with this. You guys who don't think Van Exel is much of a passer, just look up his stats. He wasn't brought to Dallas to pass, he was brought there to score, and that he did.
