For real tho ... Beverley has been absolutely balling this year . His defense is back and his playmaking has improved substantially . Next to James harden we have a monster backcourt
Is harden holding bev back? Is bev the real superstar here? Find out next time on dragons ball peepee
The media shifts the narrative to whoever they want to win. This year...it is Russell Westbrook. I don't hear any "Best player on best team!!1" anymore.
BTW, Harden barely has any help compared to what Curry has had the past two years. One of the best shooters ever in Klay and DPOY candidate Draymond, add to that 20+ppg potential Harrison Barnes, Bogut, Iguodala, Livingston, Barbosa, Ezeli, etc. Even before Durant, that GSW team was STACKED man. Still didn't prevent Curry from winning back-to-back MVPs. Again, I don't think Russ will be able to win the MVP as a 7th seed, so let's be patient. There was a lot of buzz around the league about Russ averaging triple double early in the season, so I get it in a sense. But based on previous voting pattern, Harden should be the MVP and it's not even close right now (http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/mvp.cgi). I think at some point the media will come around, otherwise they will be called out as hypocrites by a lot of people.
Everyone that has won an MVP from 1955-2001 has been inducted in the HOF. The retired players after 2001 are on their way (Duncan, Kobe, Nash, Garnett). MVP may not be the most important thing in the world, but it would be nice if Harden can win one finally and I think this year will be his best chance.
So Adams is no more an all star in the making uh...Oladipo is a worse scorer than Beverley? ****ing lul
Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon to lean on... LOL? They're playing well, sweet, but c'mon, they are not and have never been THAT great of players. Jesus. 61 game pace, but oh WAIT, WAIT, slow down folks, they have the MIGHTY Ryno/EGo duo of DEATH. James was wrong apparently, this IS a "Super Team"
This idiot Marc Stein not only chose Westbrook over Harden for MVP, but also chose Lou Williams over Eric Gordon for 6MOY award? WTF
http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/mvp.cgi According to Basketball reference, James Harden has a 53.3% chance of winning the MVP. Russell Westbrook has a 3.9% chance.
The requirements are the better storyline, which intrigues people and draws the most interest. That sells, and makes the most advertising dollars, gets more readers, gets more viewership, etc. What storyline do the Rockets have with Harden. Sometimes the storyline becomes being slighted for MVP. Maybe that's going to be Hardens calling card. But Harden and the Rockets can force the issue if they keep winning.
