i ve watched him from preseason, and i its not that i dislike him or anything, but i noticed how he often gets disoriented after plays,
for example, he forgets to highfive a guy on freethrow line, walked around and not giving a hand to a rocket on the floor...
as if someone told him to pay more attention and have more teamish behaviour..

Wiltjer would essentially have the same effect at a fraction of the cost.

Now you are just being daft... Wiltjer was undrafted in an era where stretch 4 big men are highly desired for a reason; he is slower and a bigger defensive liability than Ryno even after Ryno's back surgery. Let that sink in for a moment. He is also a crappier passer. All the things Rockets fans have been ******** on Ryno for, Wiltjer is much worse at right now. My hope is that eventually he will figure out ways to compensate for those factors (he's already showing a nice side step reset after a pump fake) since he is a smart kid, but right now, he is basically a poor, poor man's Ryno or tall Trey Daniels.

Wiltjer is as accurate from 3, and would therefore provide the same spacing on offense you guys have been raving about. Anderson is a below average rebounder and defender, so i firmly believe Witljer's defense would be on par with Andersons.

Please explain why Anderson in your eyes is worth 18 mil/year? Spacing? Really?

Personally, I don't think it's the record that folks are excited about but the style of play. Nobody in the NBA could have predicted that a team can employ this tactic and be successful and our team will be remembered as the ones who changed the way modern basketball is played. In the future, when it is normal for most teams to launch 50 treys a game, our team will be mentioned as the innovators.

 

It has already been explained. The rest depends on your ability to comprehend. Spacing alone makes him worth close to his value and that's not the only thing he brings.

Because every team who was interested in his services were willing to pay that much. Next year's free agency, that 18M will be equivalent to today's 12M. Lebron and Curry are projected to be offered $200M contracts next year. Does that make them overpaid since Harden only gets $115M?
