Cody Toppert is a former college and professional basketball player, professional player development, currently serving as an Assistant Coach for the Houston Rockets NBA D-League affiliate, the Rio Grand Valley (RGV) Vipers.

As a college player for Cornell University, Coach Toppert finished 1st overall in Cornell history in career 3-point field goals made and 8th overall in points. He would play professionally in the NBA D-League with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, then moving onto teams around the world until the end of 2012.

Since his time as a player, Coach Toppert has written for major NBA scouting and writing publications. He has also worked with players like D’Angelo Russel, Myles Turner, Devin Booker, and Justin Anderson. He was a highly sought player development coach, and his reputation and work would yield him an opportunity with the Houston Rockets.

In his first full season as an Assistant Coach, Coach Toppert served as the offensive coordinator and led RGV to a second ranked D-League offense (116.3 PPG). He also worked and helped with the development of Houston Rockets assignees Donatas Motiejunas, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrel, and KJ McDaniels. ...
