I admit I hated the hiring of D'Antoni. I'm sorry. This just shows that if the players buy in, his system works. How well? Guess we will see.

I also apologize for thinking Les was out of his damn mind. Not looking so crazy now, is he?

Kevin McFail set Harden and the Rockets back several years with all of his stupid ISO bullshit and never playing our young guys, man. I mean its almost criminal how different the Rockets look right now vs under McFail. Makes you wonder if it was down right sabotage on McFail's part.

Mike D has barely been with the team and already has the Rockets looking like a well oiled machine.

    Credit the defensive coaches too.

MDA has done great as well.

Agreed. McFail was the worst thing to happen to the Rockets. He should have never been hired to begin with as he is a garbage coach. Even after that, he should have been fired right after the Portland debacle at worst. The dude is literally out there begging for a coaching gig but no other team is stupid enough to offer him a head coach role. Not even some of the dumbest organizations in the league like the Kings LOL

That's a good and bad thing lol

Good in that its producing results. Bad in that it can encourage him to intervene in basketball decisions more, like more Jeremy Lin type moves. But hopefully not.

McFail was a cancer on this team. So glad both he and Dwight are gone.

Gonna have to give some of that blame to Morey and Les. Can't put it all on McFail especially with Duhwight.

    Lin - Les ---- Brock - McNever

One has a good GM, though

It's crazy that dantoni was considered done by many

And Kobe and Carmelo wouldn't buy into his system

D'antoni deserves COY if the Rockets get a top 4 seed but i think he is in the same boat as Harden where a lot of journalists just don't appreciate the guy and won't vote for him.

They didn't buy into his system because they don't have that capability required for an elite play-maker. All of MDA's successful stints came when he joined forces with great PGs (Nash, Harden, and Lin for "very" short amount of time.)

Yeah...count me as one of the individuals who was lobbying for the team to sign Vogel instead.

    ....Oops.

[IMG][/IMG] Apparently NBA.com is a little behind the times...but seriously their editors are consistently awful.

I knew he'd be an upgrade over McHale/JB regime, but I still wasn't happy with the hire. He is certainly making the most out of this roster and seems like chemistry hasn't been this good since like 2009.

If the Rockets keep playing the pace they are now, and keep the 4th seed, or get a higher seed; he should win the coach of the year award. Harden might win MVP.

I hated this hire and now watching this team is fun again. I'm glad I was wrong about this hire. Looking forward to the rest of this year.

This part always gets me...What young guys didn't McHale play?

    He did play
    Parsons
    Beverley
Patterson + Morris + TJones + Motiejunas (there was always a platoon going on, and remember Scola was starter when Morris rookie with 1yr Patterson)
Capela (17 games in 2015 playoffs)
    Tarik Black
    Thomas Robinson

    He didn't play
    Canaan
    Covington
    Machado
    Daniels
    Nick Johnson
McDaniels (MDA isn't playing him either)
