Jail will probably save his life. Guy went head to head with Vince Carter in the dunk contest and kept it close. Now he's in jail where he actually belongs. Pathetic on his part. F U stevie franchise.

Fame, fortune and expectations can do that to people who don't have a strong support group. He might not have used all his money on just drugs, he definitely could have had a group of friends who helped him continue an expensive lifestyle.

I remember Kevin Hart saying he went out to party with Dwayne Wade and he felt pretty inferior when they went out to party, mentioned Wade dropped $20,000+ one night and did it again the next day without thinking twice. Personally I love the "rumored" idea that Allen Iverson set up his own finances that paid him out over years. Honestly who needs to have access to more than $20 million at one time. Self control when you're by yourself is one thing but when you're edged on by your "friends" or called out some people may not the best choices.

Best of luck to Steve, he's not the first NBA player to resort to crime but he definitely won't be the last. Hopefully he can bounce back from this and reform himself to be a productive member of society.

Guess who won't be invited to games anymore. Poor guy... too talented to listen to coaching, too successful to put on the bench, wasted too much money on stupid stuff only to wind up in the court system. Open up them ears, society wants you to succeed.

Deputies said Francis was uncooperative, intoxicated, had about 22 grams of mar1juana and had an open bottle of liquor [vodka].

This breaks my heart. I wish he was still breakin players ankles on the court. I was always so excited as a little kid watching Stevie play. I still wish we never traded him and let him continue to play the way he did. He was so much fun to watch, yes even with all that dribbling. I really hope he gets better. Seriously, this breaks my heart.

This really sounds like a cry for help. Hopefully he can get therapy, counseling, and treatment. I admit I was a fan and I've always thought he wasn't a bad guy just very immature and arrogant. He was a baller and was a good friend and teammate to Yao and Mobley. Just sad to see his life keep on spiraling down hill.
