Harden also never played next to a center who indisputably top 5 in all time NBA history.

There will always be debate between him, Dream, Wilt, and Shaq, but personally I agree with you.

As i said before, I think James is just getting warmed up. PG is the toughest position to master. He's had some practice in the past due to his large amounts of play-making... but he is learning to control the game. 25 games is hardly enough to fully learn the position. He's smart enough to keep getting better and better.

It's still CP3. It's not because Harden isn't putting up MVP numbers, but Paul's two way mastery is as amazing as it has ever been in his career.

Give Harden teammates like Griffin and maybe Jordan and I promise you he would have have energy to play D. People forget that he was a good defender in college and at OKC.

In terms of sheer dominance in a game or season you have to go Shaq because any team with a prime shaq was a contender.Dream was just more dominant on both sides of the ball. He was so agile on both sides of the ball before his decline from 97-98 season. Kareem was just a dominant monster on offense with that sky hook.

Kareem could block, rebound, and shoot FT's as well. You could also make an argument that if they had counted blocks since his rookie year, he would have been the block leader instead of Dream. Dream was the epitome of a two way all-rounder, basically a guard in a center's body. Shaq was just unstoppable physically. They literally had to change the way the game was played due to Shaq.

Harden's gone God mode, playing such inspired basketball. His passing is certainly the highest quality on space&time accuracy.

He's playing more inclusive basketball than lebron at his peak, and still matching him for scoring. Harden is a once in a lifetime player that is absolutely dominating right now. Absolute pleasure to watch

Read through this thread, post for post....it is unbelievably, undeniably whiny. The only reason why people are saying "the media got this right" is because the team is doing well and its positive reinforcement.

Anything short of the rockets getting positive attention is construed as biased hate.

New York, LA, Lebron, Durant, etc are going to be the markets that get the most love, because that's just how it works. This isn't some media conspiracy to keep Houston in its place.

There have been several players that they had to change the rules of the game for.

For Shaq, they changed the support of the backboards and the design of the stanchion. They also changed the "Hack-a-Shaq" so teams couldn't do it in the last 2 minutes. The big one for Shaq was the change of zone defense.

There is a big debate on who the best Center of all time is, but for me my money would go towards Wilt. For him, they had to create the offensive interference and goaltending rules. They had to widen the lane from 12 feet to 16 feet. But my two favorite ones were that players were no longer allowed to inbound the ball from out of bounds over the backboard- they would lob the ball over the back of the backboard and Wilt would dunk it. And also players were no longer allowed to dunk their own free throws. Wilt would throw the ball off the back of the backboard and then run and dunk it before any one else could get to it.

I don't disagree, but isn't that part of what being a sports fan is all about? Being completely biased towards your team and complaining about any slight they receive, whether real or imagined?

I love the Rockets. I can try to be unbiased but I'm also a sports fan first, not an analyst or announcer. I typically am an unapologetic homer.

He's looking like he's not only the best point guard, but also the best player.

For me, Wilt was the undisputed best C. Beyond that however, there are a lot of debate as each player has their own very strong arguments. I am a homer however, so I will always say Dream is top 3, but if we are honest with ourselves, Dream, Kareem, and Shaq are all deserving of a top 3 spot.

Not arguing that a real second star would take some of the burden off of Harden. But people just seem to underestimate CP3 constantly. I know he's annoying with the flopping, and his personality is kind of caustic - but he's one of the best 5 PG's to ever play the game. This is a guy who has a career WS/48 higher than Jordan, highest in NBA history. He also has the second best AST% of all time - a whopping 47%, only second to Stockton - and Paul is a much better defender. Paul may be the best defensive PG since Payton. He's also 3rd all time in BPM after Lebron and MJ.

I mean, to say Harden is second to Paul - who is having another milestone year - is not really an insult at all to Harden. I'm very proud of Harden.

CP3 though... that dude is Point God.

if clippers and rox traded cp3 with harden in 14-15 they would have advanced to wcfs and had a chance to beat gsw
