Eye test l have been very impressed with Gordon's man defense. Does a great job staying in front of his man, putting a body on him and keeping his arms straight up. Also seen quite a few nice passes from, underrated here as well.

    Gordon has been a godsend.

All of our opponents knows the ball will go to harden every single time and have designed their defense to stop his effectiveness. That still has not prevented us from winning 6 games straight. From my humble perspective, he is doing just fine.

    This dude is unbelievable

Keeps making 3's at an insane rate. That is like at least 4 made 3's in the last 8 of 9 games and at least 3 made 3's in the last 10 games

    Hope he retires a Rocket

Unbelievable fit on this team. Just a perfect complement to James.

Eric is a real leader. He could tell in the post game interview he was not happy with the win. He actually said, " We need to regroup after this".
That is a mark of a true leader, when even after a win you still are pushing the team to get better.

He would be even better if he started and played 36 minutes a game. :D Love me some Bev too. ;)

Eric is something else, he grabs passes off his shoelaces and all in one motion drains a three with a hand in his face.

Was Gordon courted by any other teams? It seem like there wasn't much buzz around his free agency.

Even here on Clutcfans, Anderson was the marquee signing and EGo seemed to be the afterthought.

His minutes are perfect right now. The more minutes played more likely and injury.

Now when it is playoff time MDA can run him into the ground.:)

I love EGO... that being said i take issue with the title of the tread. EGO isn't a great playmaker ... He's a SHOT maker.

I'd prefer that Beverley handle the rock and initate the offense for the 2nd unit. He has been great this year at setting people up. He's just been fantastic the last 5 games over.

Of course, If ego can improve his decision making a bit then he's easily 6th man of the year caliber and beyond that maybe a top 30-40 ish player.

He's just a bit of a black hole... but hard to complain when they are going in at the present rate. We'll have to see if its just that he's getting much better quality looks and can sustain play like this.. or if he on an unsustainable hot-streak.

I think it is sustainable, health permitting.

Agree. EGo's play making ability is not that good - his passing and ball handling skills are just average. Beverley is definitely better as a PG, Gordon is more like Klay Thompson in that he can shoot the lights out and play decent (but not elite) defense.

EGo has only had one series in the playoffs. One! And he played very well considering.

Here's a full game for anyone who wants to check it out.

You might even recognize some other people:D

I've been saying Gordon isn't a distributor playmaker, and plays better next to someone that's a main ball handler.

I also have said you can't have Gordon chasing around starting pgs on defense. Gordon is too much a standard shooting guard on BOTH ends, not TOO much "combo" to him. I think his current role is just fine and monitor his minutes as he goes

The basketball gods blessed us with E-God for the suffering we endured with Brewer last season. They took pity on us and brought us the anti-Brewer. We deserve this.

But Beverley is salesman / politician/ lawyer / preacher too busy running his start-me sales pitch to let that happen. . . . . . .

Truthfully though, there's PLENTY season left. So what they're doing now might NOT be what they're doing in February, its a developing situation. RIGHT NOW with this win streak and Bev-added success, itd be unwise to mess with lineup now.

There's just as much RISK in that change as there is benefit. It can lead to losing 2 out of 3. But after things get normalized, can see some experimentation like that

I wish Gordon can eclipse Brewer's 51 pts.
