Let's say you're new to the NFL and had to choose between being a Texans fan and a Colts fan. Which would you choose?

Both are similarly mediocre teams (although Texans have had the Colts number recently), but one is built on an awesome defense and the other on an awesome QB. Let's assume for this exercise that JJ Watt will come back fully healthy next year.

Colts ownership seems less stupid. I think we have more talent. Luck is kinda overrated IMO

If you are not including franchise history, I much prefer be a Texans fan even without JJ Watt not at 100% next year. This is now the Texan's division. They have to screw it up bad to not be in the playoffs every year. The colts are just one injury from going 2-14 again.

The Colts just recently gave an overrated Andrew Luck a huge contract, after which their GM blamed their woes on that contract.

    I rest my case.

This question is not well suited for an unbiased opinion for this particular site.

I will add that Colts tears are so sweet.... Carry on....

I think the intent of the question/poll is to remind us that all is not bad with this franchise.

If JJ is back 100% you bet on the Texans since there is hope the offense progresses due to maturation in the system.

The Colts, with the blunders in FA and a big raise to Luck, are going to have to find ways to plug some of their deficiencies. Pardon the pun, but they'll have to get lucky in the draft, but Luck (and Hilton) will give them a chance to be competitive while they continue to try and overhaul the defense (and OL).

    Go Texans!

Texans are a quarterback/coach away from competing.

Hell, they are a healthy defense and a halfway competent O line away from competing.

    Texans easily.

Aside from one AFC conference appearance, what have they done? They constantly lose the worst division in the NFL and spent their first round picks on WRs. They still haven't improved their team really especially on defense and rely upon their QB to carry them. Plus their GM and coach are absolutely clueless; how neither of them haven't gotten fired yet is a mystery. With Luck taking massive hits and being one of the most hit and sacked QBs year after year, I wouldn't be surprised if his performance suddenly tanks or he moves on to another team.

The cancer angle is why I think they haven't fired their head coach yet.....but I'm not sure how much sympathy they have left.

    Without Watt, Indy

    With Watt, Texans

Watt is a bigger star than Luck, and a new fan would probably prefer star power.

Both teams have a similar enough recent history for recent success to be an equal factor..

Texans. Colts have had one all-time QB, lucked into another. Have screwed him around. They have one Super Bowl. Rick Smith would have a Super Bowl with that. The Texans are very dissapointing, but our best QB has been Matt Schaub. Case closed.

Our defense is still really good without Watt, even more so than the Colts

The moment they fired Bill polian was the moment they doom themselves. It's hard to find a worst front office and coaching staff than the Texans

I don't know about regular, but he's not elite and turns the ball over way too much
