Question guys, what does "resolution" mean in that Berman tweet? A solution in general (which can also mean that he's staying here) or it means that they (the Rockets) want to basically nullify the contract?

    Pure guess on my part:
After the season, DMo got his own physical done (with MRI, etc), and the Rockets want to see the results. The CBA gives the Rockets the rights to request it. This request is part of allowing them to not only assess his ability to perform, but also gives their Doctors a new baseline for monitoring him. It would be sketchy for him to withhold them, and it would be misleading to say they didn't exist.

Didn't we hear reports that after Detroit fiasco, he wanted to prove them wrong with his own doctors?

A screwed up situation to be correct.

He needs that money. He probably needs another year to be completely healthy (or it may be chronic) and play on a good level.

The Rockets won't have that time. A couple of other NBA teams are intrigued by his talent but will cut ties with him if he does not perform within half a year.

    Plot thickens further.

Motiejunas must pass a physical with the Rockets, a determination that is their sole judgment. Houston must decide within six business days of officially signing him, which would make the deadline next Monday if his signing became official last Friday.

If Motiejunas passes the physical, his contract becomes valid. If he fails it, he returns to restricted free agency. Potentially, the Rockets could argue to reopen his Nets offer sheet if they released him from that in conjunction with signing this new contract – though, depending on physical results, Houston might not want that offer sheet open.

Even a failed physical wouldn’t close the door on Motiejunas returning to the Rockets. They just might want to rework the contract after learning more about his injury risk, especially given his history of back problems.

I just want this to be over. Either let him join the damn team or cut him loose. Dragging this thing out forever is ridiculous.

Whatever is best for the player career's longevity. The Rockets should free him, either let him play elsewhere or let him heal his injury.

I believe that if the Rockets want out, they want DMo to be able to go to the Nets, and maybe that is what all of this is about.

It’s not clear to me if he can decide to play elsewhere — Europe, Russia, anywhere — now. He’d need a Letter of Clearance to play in any FIBA league. I don’t think he can get one in this situation.

Nobody’s preventing an unemployed player from working. He has an employment contract, legally executed according to the collectively bargained rules that govern his employment. He’s not unemployed. Choosing not to honor the contract he signed, and the rules that govern them, is not the same as being unemployed. What he CAN’T do is to arbitrarily choose to work for whomever he pleases, just because he doesn’t like the terms of his contractual obligation. Sorry, but your interpretation is just silly.

D-Mo should pack the bags ,go to Vancouver, comeback next summer, sign RFA contract , and play ... We will evaluate after.

I can only guess someone on the team is still intrigued by his talent. Like the majority here.

They cannot decide to let him go or keep him and the physical would have been sort of a positive sign towards trusting the player.

Thanks.... seems that both sides - Rockets and Dmo reps are maneuvering themselves towards an Impasse.

The Rockets could end this I guess.
