We're winning, Harden is playing at an elite level. That's the bottom line imo

Yes yes what with him?, thought it was just me witnessing him almost bricking everything lately. Not the harden from the last 2 years so far, been bricking an uncany ammount free throws too.

    Great thread.
This is one of the biggest issues I have with Harden. He takes waaaaayyyyyyy to much time bringing the ball up court. He's usually past half court at the 16-17 mark of the shot clock. There is nothing more irritating than when he ISO's and runs another 10-12 seconds.
Second unit seems to run a lot more, sets up great plays, and take care of the ball. I've noticed too MDA has had to go with Mr. Energy Harrell earlier bc the first unit seems a bit sloppy at times, in large part bc of Hardens TO issues.
I understand you are going to have more TO's when controlling the ball more but at some point if he'd just run a play instead of ISO every time it would probably help.
However, if he is playing a slower pace to conserve his energy for the D side than I don't mind this at all.

If playing slow is the biggest factor to taking us to a 17-7 & 1st or 2nd in the MVP race I hope he continues to play slow.

Somehow the 17-7 record is in spite of the guy nearly averaging a triple double.

    Brilliant, guys. Brilliant.

i've been saying this in all the brewer hate threads.. people think that houston is a fast paced team, we arent with the starting unit. He has a tendency to go to half court hero ball. In the pre-season and first 10 or so games he would move the ball up faster but it hasnt happened as much.

The second unit is way faster and moves the ball way better, which makes our second unit way stronger than most teams. Which is why a player like brewer who is in a huge scoring slump has confidence from his coaches. He moves the ball, he runs the floor and he plays with energy..

I think the coaches have noticed that Harden is slowing down which is why they changed his bench pattern once Beverly came back but that is only my theory out side of the obvious that we have Beverly back.

Jim Harden plays too slow. He needs to pick up the pace!
Jim needs to lose weight; too fat & happy
Jim is dating Chinese Kitty. Chinese Kitty is distraction!
Mike needs to have a serious talk with Jim!
    • Jim needs to stop with the careless turnovers
    • Jim needs to stop isoing, especially in crunch time
    • Jim needs to stop shooting threes
John Lucas needs to talk to Jim.
    • Jim needs to protect the ball in the 4th quarter
    • Jim needs to stop trying to draw the foul & instead just make the basket

I think this is the main reason we are having issues on clutch time.I´m fine if he adjusts for the last 5 minutes.

Any critizisms of Harden will be meet with hostility as long as we are willing. Even with any perceived faults that he has, he is our SUPERSTAR and the main reason we are WINNING. Can he get even better, SURE, every NBA player can. He will be better by the end of this season than he is right now. This is his first year playing full time PG.

Brewer is useless in a slow half-court game, but he's pretty good when we're running and gunning

I never said any of that. You just made all of that up in your own head.

Rockets are playing great. I'm saying they potentially could be even better.

I wouldn't try to get him to play at a pace he's uncomfortable with, but in the fourth quarter in tight games I'd like to see more ball movement and better decisions.

It's unbelievable some of the threads I read. The team is playing well Harden's numbers are ridiculous and we are talking about slow pace. Team score a million points a night and the thread talkin about he plays too slow...LOL.... What's next? his beard is getting in the way he needs to cut it?

Harden is who he is; LOVE it or HATE it! His style has been productive and it aint gonna change. I'm more impressed with his vocal leadership this year; I see him getting in his teammates faces and making on court adjustments. He's asked to be the point guard and Facilitate and make plays for everyone else, check; Rebound, check; Assist, check, Score at will check, check check.

Who gives a crap if he takes 6 seconds to bring the ball up court. I rather he do that than go 100 mph like Westbrook and jack a crazy air ball and die getting the ball back just to take the same ridiculous shot.

I'll take Hardens flaws with the success the team is having any day.
