No. Simple logic. With Dirk and no Yao, Rox is locked to be a first round playoff team just like t-wolves. Dallas would definitely do it even if they have to saucey up the deal by adding Tony Delk and future draft picks. For them, they will be a serious championship contender for years to come.
Hakeem 94/95 playoffs 33 ppg - 2.8 bpg - 10 rpg - 1.18 spg - 4.5 apg Jordan 95/96 playoffs 31 ppg - 0.3 bpg - 7.9 rpg - 1.83 spg - 5.0 apg Besides the above numbers you can be sure that Hakeem changed more shots than Jordan.
So, you won't trade Pau for Yao huh? I want to see how the Logo laugh at this notion rolling on the floor.
Jordan dominated both ends of the court. Im a Rocket forever and the Dream is the greatest Rocket ever. But, the Dream was not better than MJ was on any single year.
I wouldn't do this trade. Dirk is an offensive machine, but doesn't play solid defense. Yao's game is adequate, but improving. Plus he changes opponents shots now. Remember, superstars don't hit the NBA running. They all took 2 to 4 years to develope to superstar status. Naw, I'll take my chances with this Rocket core developing into a title team!
What if Yao wants to play for a team like Lakers in 3 years? If so, will Houston trade a 25 year old Yao for a old Shaq?
I wouldn't do the deal. But the deal is not necessarily one-sided one way or the other. Nevertheless, franchise players like this are not traded, absent trade demands or fallout, given how much marketing the respective team has put out promoting the player.
The Clippers fans also told us Melvin Ely is better than Yao. I am sure the Utah Jazz fans wouldn't trade Greg Ostertag for Yao either.
The whole thought of this notion is preposterous. Yao Ming is arguably one of the top three most untouchable players in the NBA. PERIOD!!! Any GM that would trade Yao should be stoned to death.
I wish we could have them both. I would trade everyone including Les and the powerdancers to have Yao AND Nowitzki on the same team...but I don't think it will ever happen.
Wow...that would be awesome... Trade everyone on our team except for Francis and Yao for Nowitzki! prlen...it's N-O-W-I-T-Z-K-I You could just call him Dirk.
Of course. Pau Gasol gets double/tripled teams every night too and his defence make opposing teams quiver in fear.
