Not a DMo thread, but 12 years ago today, 13 in 35 happened

The comeback was amazing however that game was terrible.
I'm sure this is not even a footnote for Spurs fans as they hoisted championships during that era

 

Feel good moment that game

 

Oooh! I member. I was in San Antonio actually. Went to a friends house and was surrounded by a bunch of cackling Spurs fans. It suuuucked...initially. Here's a cool story, bro for ya'll.

So the Rockets are getting blown out and everybody's in this guy's apartment and we're all waiting to go out after the game. As a diamond in the rough in a sea full of ignorant Ginobili munchers, I'm understandably getting a ribbing. There's like 2 minutes left and it looks hopeless. So, sadly I give up hope too and agree that we should jet. The apartment guy is gettin' all cozy w/ his girl and he's kind of whipped. So, when she (cute, but not fine or anything) demands that they stay in and watch ****ing "Love, Actually" he proceeds to hand over his balls and shoos us out like we're house cats on a his porch.

We had made a bet and I was ready to buy the rounds for everybody but, since he was the one to bet with me, I weaseled out of paying for the drinks that night. I spent the rest of my night drowning my Rockets-related sorrows in wine, women, and song. Woke up the next morning broke and apocalyptic. And I'm not proud of this, but full disclosure, I woke up next to some butterface. Nice girl, but YIKES!

So I stumble to my computer, open up Clutch...was it still city or did they make the switch to Fans by then?...I don't remember. Anyway, I'm simultaneously dumbfounded and elated and the girl says bye to me as I mumble something unintelligible, wave her off, and watch the video for the 600th time in a row. Then my "buddy" calls me up...

He's a huge Spurs fan (that's all these poor folks know, forgive them for they do not know what they have done) and-instead of "Love,Actually" he actually kept the game on after we left. He ended getting all mad and didn't get laid that night. I gloated, and he paid the tab next time we all went out. I gloated that night too-surrounded by angry, drunk, disgruntled SAS fans.

Ahhh, the sweet smell of vindication. I don't talk to that guy anymore. Last I heard, that couple wasn't together anymore, either.

GO ROCKETS!

Thanks, man. You know, Clutchfans is undoubtedly the best fan site I've ever witnessed. But boy, do I have stories from going to Rockets games in hostile environments (bars, SBC center, opposing fans BBQs) and taking in the animosity. It's made my fandom stronger, I think.

I know there's been threads on this before, but was anyone else at that game? Tell us your stories!
