But the main point is that we DO NOT HAVE THE CASH TO DO BETTER! So their houses are WAAAAAAAAYYYYY better than what anyone on this board has.
Of course they are better than what we have. Was my point that my house was better? No. Go back and read my posts.
is living in an over built sub urban neighborhood your Ideal place? owning what, 1.5 acres, 1 acre. Tall hedge rows. a gated community? living right up on a golf cource? I imagine that if all you have ever known is the urban streets of [insert city here] that you would throw your millions on a typical sub urban golf house. A house I might add with no personality. these guys on cribs just know that the more stuff they have the cooler they are. so they buy cars and buy flashy things in their house. Sure some of the things are nice. some of the things are very nice, but they dont necessrily fit their environment. I think Cribs is pretty much tacky. I saw the house Jordiana brewster bought in Malibu. I think its a "cute" little beach house. I like it. the one think I hated was its being packed between neighbours. but the inside of the house clearly fit her personality and lifestyle. it was also tastefull. Tad Nugent. his house was also well perfect for him. and pretty nice. now I dont know what fits your typical NBA/NFL stars personality, but those sub urban cookie cuter 4-7k SQ ft homes are more the ideal for young families in the yuppy mold. they belong to the likes of Jessica simpson and her hubby. I still dont like those houses, but thats because I prefer location over square footage. and I prefer wood shingles to exterior paint of vynal siding or god forbid Stucco/STO. In my multi million dollar dream world I start with an amazing piece of property. I am talking decent acerage and a great view. to me a great view does not include a golf cource and houses beyond it. it certainly does not mean a neighbours house. I could mean a view of the city in the distance from the top of a hill (a-la MC Hammer over Oakland/SF) mainly in means water. a pond, a lake, a river, an ocean. I would also love to see mountins or trees when i wake yup. just not a golf cource and a cul-de-sac. after I get that perfect location, I build the largest swiming pool the town allows. once I have my pool I build a modest cedar shingled asfault roof cottage that is more dsigned around the land and the pool than anything. mos of the space is for the view of the land, the other part of the house focuses on the pool area and a large surrounding deck. and finally a tower as high as the zoning variance will let me ) and up top a quite place with at least a 16" telescope. basement bar/rumpus room. loud in the basement, quiet at the top, comfort and ease of maintenance throughout. PEACE
Did anyone catch that one Cribs at Jayson Williams' estate in New Jersey? That place was ridiculous. Also liked Penny Hardaway's house too. Redman keeps it real out in Staten Island. But, VOR is right. Most of these types of houses can be found in any city. Hell, just up the hill from my apartment complex are houses in the $3-6 million range. These palaces overlook Lake Austin and the entire surrounding canyon. In the morning's while I'm waiting to turn left onto the 360, I've even seen Vipers, Lotus, and Ferraris.
I love watching that show. I also like watching a similar show but about their cars. (forgot the name)
