For me it all depends on the salary cap implications of matching those incentives. Will we have to carry the full $37 on our team cap? If not, then if the difference between the luxury/hard cap is say $250K, would we be penalized if DMo earned that $250K and put us over the tax line?

If someone @BimaThug @heypartner @craguin can point me in the right place I'd appreciate it!

I'm not saying we should match that. But compared to an incentive such as $1mil for team making the playoffs (which becomes almost guaranteed money if he plays on the Rox), that is more reasonable.

Thanks. So I guess we wouldn't carry the full $37 and wouldn't know his actual cap impact until the end of the season (depending on the type of incentive).

So dmo gave up 8 mil guarantee for ~9 million but coughed up 2 additional option years.

Need to wait for the rest of the detail here. Some assumptions are being made that have not been verified. Wait for the whole thing.

Maybe a reverse contract with 9.8 million starting salary with other incentives. Maybe player option year 4.

And maybe a preliminary negotiation with another twist and turn left to unfold.

Typical vague answer and when something gets released/verified, b_allholic will claim it and say "C i told you this would happen".

I just saw that the contract was backloaded. Not sure where. I'll check twitter.

    8.3 mil this year.

So... team options for years TWO, THREE, and FOUR and losing no trade protection went counter to your expectations?

Expected and wrote that the guarantee dates needed to change in exchange for higher guaranteed salary. You've read my posts.

He did all of this and basically got a little more guaranteed money (but not much) but gave the Rockets total control over his future including the ability to use him as a huge trade piece.

Thanks BJ Armstrong! He was working for Moraye all along!

So you still think he'll get something equivalent to 3/45 or 4/60? He's not losing a nickel of that, per you.
