Yes he is. He needs to continue to mature however because he's not quite ready to win championships yet.
How do you know that? I hate it when people make declarative, absolute statements that are impossible to prove and are based only on their (dubious) opinion.
Maybe he is basing it off the fact that the playoffs aren't until next year. I don't think any player is ready to win a championship right now. I kid, i k...id
Because he is not a good enough playmaker to win a championship. History has proven that. And he's not mature enough to understand and accept it yet so we can get a better playmaker and put him in the ultimate championship role, that being primary scorer and #1 scoring option while being the #2 playmaker and pasting alongside another player who is superior to him in handling the basketball without turning it over while being a more creative passer/distributor than James. James is good. He's a sensational scorer, as Morey pointed out, one of the best ever at scoring the ball. And he's a decent playmaker who isn't efficient enough handling the basketball as the primary distributor. He would be a much more efficient playmaker as a secondary playmaker without the responsibility of having to get everybody involved and he would score the ball even frequently and efficiently than he does now if he didn't carry primary playmaking responsibilities. But James isn't mature enough to see that. And so the big dog runs loose off the chain. Makes for very entertaining regular season games with Harden posting gargantuan scoring/assist numbers. But that style will not win a championship. When the playoffs roll around the best defenses will stop us by turning James over and watering down his shooting efficiency. James will have to mature more before we can win a championship.
Ricky Rubio is an outstanding primary playmaker. He'd be perfect for us in that role next to Harden if Harden would accept it. Because Rubio isn't looking to score. He's only looking to distribute and facilitate. Playing alongside a scorer like Harden Rubio would average about 14 assists and 2 turnovers while Hardens scoring would balloon to the mid thirties, his assists would decrease to 6 to 7 sms hid turnovers would be more than halved. We'd become the most potent and efficient offense in the Association, especially adding in Rubio's defensive turnovers (steals and offensive fouls drawn from his opponent). We would also be able to move Harden to the 3 and 4 and create killer small ball lineups that nobody (even Cleveland and GS) could touch with combos like Rubio, Gordon, Harden, Ariza/Dekker on the perimeter just killing opponents because of the varied attack and the ball starting with Rubio's creation.
Agreed. James Harden isn't ready to win championships because his best teammate is Eric Gordon and not Kevin Durant.
Good Lord. Somehow Jopataholic was able to slide in his hard on for Ricky Rubio and his Hatred for James Harden into the DMO thread. To top it off, I've never been wrong so we'll agree to disagree that has initials starting with D and ending with D is posting in this thread this morning. Lord knows where this is going or where it will end up but I predict it will go downhill in a hurry!
Again, this is not provable and is 100% based on your (dubious) opinions. What have you done or said that gives your opinions any credibility?
Rubio is not an NBA championship player, the modern NBA requires you to shoot. He would SUCK here in Houston, and make the team worse. I mean he hasn't exactly led Minny anywhere has he? DD
I can see Jopataholic coming back with there was a crosswind or there was sun in his eyes. Either way, Jopataholic will not be wrong about Rubio!!
A while back, he mentioned that he liked Rubio because Rubio was a winner and when asked why he doesn't win in Minny, answered that it was because he wasn't surrounded by good players. It's like, so if he has never won before how is he a winner? Minny is the only team he's been in for the NBA and that has consistently proven it is NOT a winning team from Love to Wiggins and Townes, all three being significantly better teammates than anyone Harden has ever had. Yet, Harden is the one leading his teammates to the playoffs while Rubio is the one that needs to be surrounded by better teammates and is a winner? It's this type of bullshit asshattery that makes people roll their eyes at bbh. PPG who can't make shots from anywhere outside the FT line? No thanks!
Well I guess the Rockets are going to set up some incentives for DMo... I wouldn't be surprised if the new contract gives Morey much more flexibility.
Sorry but no player is an NBA championship player until they win a Championship....................people would have said the same things about JR Smith
