Nobody said the Wiz were screwed in this trade. As a matter of fact, the point was made that this could be one of those rare trades where both sides benefit.

Well I'd like to post on this since I wasn't here when it originally popped up. This is gonna be a long one. I think everyone will benefit from this trade for many reasons:

    1. The Mavs get a good low post player that they have lacked for some years now. And Juwon is also a great low post defender and rebounder. If you don't believe me then you obviously haven't seen any of the Mavs games since the trade, especially the aforementioned Kings game.

    2. Calvin Booth is turning out to be a good center who can score, rebound, and play some good defense. He isn't getting spectacular numbers but he doesn't have to. Just get rebounds and play D against the Big Boys (something Bradley can't do). In recent games he has even replaced Bradley in the starting lineup.

    3. For what Dallas got, they didn't give up much. Laettner was the only one getting significant minutes. Thomas and Alexander have a lot "potential" but they had no where to play in Dallas. And we didn't mind giving up future players because we are trying to win a championship NOW.

    4. Washington, on the other hand, was able to get rid of Howard's huge contract while filling their roster with several good young players that they can build their team around.

    5.
These are Howard's words from his original press conference with the Mavs. He also said that Finley is his closest friend in the league.

    6. If Howard and Webber being friends helps us get C-Webb over the summer, that's good for us. Bad for you.

    7. We are 13-5 since the trade, including 3-1 on our current west coast roadtrip where we have beaten Portland, Utah, and Sacramento.

Summary: Everyone wins. [IMG] I'm done. No more writing.
