    First, people who make posts with no content like "first page!" should be banned. Nobody cares you're on the first page if you don't have anything interesting to bring to the discussion.

    Second, it's really interesting to see this getting some national coverage. And I'm really glad to see they are stating very clearly that the Rockets are just operating as normal and have done nothing wrong or out of the ordinary and that it is BJ Armstrong who is in the wrong here.

    Noah, Jefferson, Leuer......yes DMo would have gotten 40-60 as an unrestricted FA. LOL. It's hilarious to think otherwise.

    If only he was an unrestricted free agent, I guess.

    You should be an agent (like BJ) though, I really hope the CBA changes.

    Marks is indicating "individual achievement" bonuses do not qualify as "bonuses based upon the performance of the team". (see below)

    Per Larry Coon's blog - December 6, 2016 at 8:26 pm

    There’s no ambiguity and no negotiation required. The CBA spells out what are principal terms:

    The Principal Terms of an Offer Sheet are only:
    (i) the term of the Contract.
    (ii) the fixed and specified Compensation that the New Team will pay or lend to the Restricted Free Agent as a signing bonus, Current Base Compensation, and/or Deferred Base Compensation in specified installments on specified dates;
    (iii) Incentive Compensation; provided, however, that the only elements of such Incentive Compensation that shall be included in the Principal Terms are the following: (A) bonuses that qualify as Likely Bonuses based upon the performance of the Team extending the Offer Sheet and the ROFR Team; and (B) Generally Recognized League Honors; and
    (iv) Any allowable amendments to the terms contained in the Uniform Player Contract (e.g., Base Compensation protection, a trade bonus, etc.).

    To match an offer sheet, the ROFR team matches only the principal terms.

    So basically "blah blah, if things went different he'd get paid" so... what you're really saying is... If bj/dmo were putting this much effort into his contract during the off-season (as some posters here) this would probably have been resolved.

    This forum should just have a board dedicated to DMo. So we can keep everything in 1 spot... Most of these threads loop/derail after the first page.
