Because that's a b**** move and Armstrong has a reputation as a b**** ass. Plain and simple. Personality wise, this does not fit Dmo's personality at all - this is coming from the agent.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosman_ruling I think in soccer a scrub called Bosman changed the transfer policy within the European Union drastically and forever 20 somewhat years ago. Scrubs in this world must not be underestimated.
I figured the players would. They like DMo and wouldn't get involved with him and his paychecks. I don't see any issues with chemistry if he joins the team like people are saying.
Dmo shouldn't worry about the incentives that much . Because there are 3 possible outcomes and only one hurts him . 1. He plays below contract value ... He wouldn't have made the incentives anyways and he probably gets cut either in March or after the second year . 2. He plays right at the contract value , this one hurts him a bit as Morey won't let him go , but he also probably gets the last two years picked up and makes 8 per. 3. He returns to form and plays above contract value . I don't think this hurts him . A player playing well is valuable ... Especially if the contract is below market value . Morey just showed he is willing to renegotiate contracts. Yes that was James harden , but you do the best you can to keep contributing team members happy . Furthermore if he becomes a bonafide player he gets endorsements
He basically is screwed in all scenarios. Underperform and get cut. Nobody pays. Over perform and he's underpaid for 4 years. Rockets won't renegotiate unless he's close to star level.
Seems plausible that the Rockets might have only matched the $31 million instead of the $37 in the hopes tbis very scenario happened. They might be hoping to negotiate an even more favorable deal. Like they will match the $6 million in incentives if they can push back the guarantee dates from March to the summer.
Let's hope they can get Dmo's attention. Easy solution here - the blame is on BJ, he get's fired, Dmo gets new agent, passes physical, and joins team. No one blames Dmo for his sorry agent. Go Rockets! We have a game tonight, let's put this drama in the rearview mirror.
AHAHAAHAAHA..... NOW after this cluster "f" of a past 6 months (6 months that D-Mo SHOULD HAVE had a contract) they are just now "getting weary" of BJ? That's like saying that I'm just now starting to get some concerns about Donald Trump as our president. About halfway through WEEK ONE of free agency, it became clear through market comps that Donatas' market comps were, on the high end, 3 years 10 mil per. It was BJ's fault that he wasn't able to communicate with D-Mo and get him an offer maybe slightly below these comps, and get his squared away in July. But no... BJ was busy tweeting about social injustices, and spending effort on Derrick Rose's move to the Knicks. That should have been when D-Mo started to "get weary" of BJ... when he couldn't get him a contract in July when its necessary to secure a job in the NBA. D-Mo is either too loyal to his detriment, or just too dumb to realize he has a bad agent who has made it clear that D-Mo's career is not high priority and he's willing to gamble with that career in order to prove a point, or recruit future RFA's.
So what is the possible reason that DMo is not firing him. BJ obviously a terrible influence and this would have never have happened with a different agent. Are there some kind of legal obligations if you suddenly fire your agent?
Yeah but that's becuase the contract in general . The incentives being left out only hurt him if he over performs and meets them . But even then he is probably performing at a level where he can make some cash with endorsements .
Mr. Motiejunas is Dmo and "inner circle" is dmo's way of speaking in the 3rd person about his brain . Or maybe he has multiple personalities
Which is another way of saying that the holdout is over the grossly incompetent agent DMo picked to represent him and the really stupid offer sheet he had him sign.
