Based on what you wrote, bj and dmo are fools. He could have had a $15m/yr contract. No team would have given them that without really believing in dmo or wanting him. The rockets probably would not have matched, and if they did the team that traded for dmo clearly would have desired him enough to pay him $15m a year. Now he has an $8m/yr contract. Even if he got his freedom and went to Utah, he would only get $11-12mm and play behind Gobert and favors among others. That's assuming a best case scenario. They were fools for not getting the Utah offer before signing the nets offer. No way the rockets simply release dmo - that would set a bad precedent. He could end up missing the year and still be rfa, when he could have made $4m and been unrestricted next year. People are watching, and bj is blowing it.

The offer sheet D-Mo signed with the Nets was much worse than what Morey offered him. BJ got him into a deal with three years of team options at a low-ish salary with a rising cap. Morey's deal only had one year of team options.

You're completely done here, just like BJ and D-Mo. Maybe everyone will forget if you keep a low profile for a year and try to make a comeback.

What do you think teams do? You think they do everything above board and don't undermine the intent/sanctity of the agreement?

Detroit ALREADY failed him on a physical for no reason. Nets passed him. What's the difference. Physicals are just leverage for the teams to use to their benefit. Do you remember Tyson Chandler falling a physical about $70 million ago? He's still collecting checks millions of dollars later.

Restricted free agency is a dirty business.

Yooooooooo, Batman, do you finally agree that restricted free agency is a dirty business? Paging Batman. Wash your hands and leave the bathroom please. Yooooo, Batman, restricted free agency is a dirty business.

Why are people assuming we have to waive the physical? That's not what the rules say. The rules say:

    From Larry Coon's analysis: http://cbafaq.com/blog/?p=381

So we can just fine him per game he's missing right now if I'm reading that correctly? I don't think we should waive the physical. It helps make him more tradeable to be able to say we re-assessed him as a new player and he also passed the Nets physical.

Does it say more about BJ for not going up to bat for his client when this happened (knowing the domino effect of a failed physical for a player just coming off of back surgery) or for the Rockets in trying to minimize financial risk?

    LMFAO.

Now you are so afraid your beloved Dmo won't even get to play in the NBA as the sorry weak ass TJ's minimum contract will look even bigger than his?

The Rockets to waive the physical and let him play? Are you forking kidding yourself and just ask Les to write a blank check for the next Bobby Brown the Rox going to sign and then beg for him to play here?

It doesn't matter how long this shlt will take, the Rox isn't gonna lose anything if he will play here or not. There is no forking way that Les will give in for a turd pulling stuns like this.

Dmo can retire by tomorrow and yes the Rox can't do shlt about it, but if him wants to play in the NBA again?

He must hand his ass to Keith Jones for inspection first before he can even have a chance to walk into the practice court.

On a serious note, he is seriously playing with fire. Sitting out until March could really, truly hurt his career.

The Rockets would own all of the information from the physical. This info is valuable and can be leaked during future contract negotiations, something which Morey is not above doing (ex. Carl Landry).

This whole thing reeks of mistrust between DMo and the Rockets FO, but we have all the leverage here. This has the potential to get even uglier, if that's even possible.

It's almost about time for you to just leave this Rocket's fan forum. WTF are you talking about? DMOF Why should the Rockets waive any physical? If he fails our physical, we will release him and he can go play for his beloved Nets. The Rockets don't owe him shet. You sound like a total douche for thinking the Rockets should waive his physical. We didn't start anything, his back did.
