First of all, Nets can't match anything, only the Rockets. 2nd of all, Nets offer made him un-tradeable THIS year, which was the deal breaker for the offer we gave him supposedly, making it a toss up whether or not we will match. Utah's contract is also only for 2 years.
In DMo contract according to netsdaily, there is line "he gets 5mil immediately after signing the contract". So basically if Rockets dont realease him and DMo decides to show up like 5days before march 1 to do the psychical, to get his money? Finish his psychical and gets all his money or Im missing something? Did BJ just extort Rockets 5mils? DMo can now just go play in europe for few months, comeback and sign with rockets for full money?
What do you think will be our next move at this point? Wait these two days to see if he shows up to the physical and if not, why should we make him restricted again?
Unlike Deandre Jordan, who reneged on the verbal agreement with the Mavs, DMo signed the offer sheet and should honor his contract. If he doesn't like it fine him until he decides to show up.
Yeah but 2 guaranteed years at a higher value. I don't buy the BS that he had the Nets contract and the Utah contract and chose the Nets one because of playing time and the 4 years-- only 1 of those Nets years was guaranteed with it team options for the rest...so the Utah one, if true, is still superior if you are an injury prone player looking for guaranteed $$$. Once again, BJ either failed spectacularly when guiding his client or they are tampering by getting Utah to up the ante and back out of a binding RFA agreement.
Rockets' initial offer was $8 million a season. That works to be about $97,600 per game. Rockets have played 21 games. So DMo and his Fellatio have basically surrendered a little over $2 million dollars in money by doing the stupid dance.
You could be right, but until new info comes out, my speculation is based on actual facts instead of angry supposition. My opinion is also that BJ has failed DMo from start to finish.
If this true, Rockets should do this and keep D-Mo in limbo and lets see what will D-Mo do on March 1, sh*t head.
↑ (see above) CBA FAQ #44: The team must submit a First Refusal Exercise Notice within three days -- the actual contract usually comes a couple days later. The First Refusal Exercise Notice creates a binding agreement where the principal terms of the offer sheet will need to be part of the new contract. Additional info per Larry Coon's blog post... It’s important to note here that the rules for restricted free agency say that when a team issues a first refusal exercise notice, the player and team “…shall be deemed to have entered into a Player Contract.” Motiejunas is, for all intents and purposes, under contract with the Rockets now, and the Rockets have all the rules related to player discipline for failure to report at their disposal (along with the right to kick him to the curb by withdrawing their first refusal exercise notice).
