If he does sign here and he becomes a problem, the Rockets can always cut him loose. I'm not worried about chemistry issues.
Could this be what DMO and BJ want though? Maybe they're floating the Jazz contract out there into goading us to waive the physical so we can fine him. Maybe there isn't actually a Jazz contract but they don't want him to undergo a physical. So they make this up, we waive the physical so we can start fining him, and then DMO simply shows up and doesn't get fined.
This offer has to be more recent than not. D-Mo said he was happy if the Rockets matched or if they didn't the other day. It's not like Utah e-mailed their offer the same day he signed with the Nets and BJ forgot to check his inbox. He would have been trying to do something about it then, unless he deliberately played the Rockets into matching it with that quote and now he is pretending he doesn't want to be part of the team for whatever reason just because he knows they might be nice enough to let him out and get more money then match. The point is Utah needs to **** off. I believe it's them because D-Mo is white.
was our QO more guaranteed money for DMO than the offer now? what's the benefit of him signing the QO early on?
That's up to his agent. Last round of calls would have done the trick. Also, restricted free agency has been in the league and is not a new concept. He chose to play in this league. There are rules. What makes him special?
If the NBA sees this as tampering, Morey's best move would be to do everything to extract a draft pick from Utah as compensation and fine DMo until he shows up for the physical or March 1st. It's pretty obvious that DMo is done with this FO
This and Feigan's tweet a bit ago reads that the Rockets can now treat him as an NBA player with NBA player rules (meaning they can fine him, etc.) but if he doesn't show up for physical & sign his contract by March 1st, the offer sheet transitional contract gets voided, and I assume he goes back to RFA status. In that case, its obvious the Rockets just wait it out and continue to starve out D-Mo. Worse comes to worst in that case, he sits in limbo until March, and then signs a deal either here or overseas. At that point the Rockets will know more about their situation in free agency this Summer, or how serious they are about short term contention, about how good the younger bigs are, and how healthy Nene & Anderson are going to likely be for the last stretch of the season. I say wait him out. Screw him.
I'm all for taking Utah's pick then trolling them by proposing to give it back this summer via SnT for Hayward.
Yeah, this will have 0 effects on chemistry. If you are Harrel this excites you because DMO was probably going to push him out of the rotation. He was another big that was going to compete for minutes with Ryno, Trez, and Nene. So I' not sure they are sad about this.
It's funny how D-Mo tried to use the Rockets taking 3 days to match as the excuse for not wanting to join the team. BJ would have to talk. He kinda looks like the snitch type.
@DonatasMot Donatas MotiUSELESS.Is your idiot agent giving you a @bjarmstrong since he phucked your career? You at least getting a reach around?
LOLLLLLL this is lower than Royce White. DMo, you just created a new floor for cancerous mediocre players.
