So the definition of tampering: http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q109 This has to be that if it is true there is a third team.
I'm not worried. Les isn't the world's greatest owner, but I trust him to not let an agent punk him. Plus the league won't want to set a precedent for future RFA's.
DMo and/or his agent are setting a bad precedent, and of course, the Rockets don't have to pull the offer just so he can get a higher payday
hmm. I guess that makes sense but then why not put more pressure on Utah to deliver the better contract? Why 'rush' to sign with the Nets if the Utah offer was plausible? If reports are to believed and Utah is now suddenly regretting not putting in an offer, what changed their mind? As others have said, something smells of tampering and I hope the Rockets don't release him back to RFA status only to give Utah a chance at a higher contract that ...we could match for higher dollars than currently on the table. Not all adding up.
I doubt it. BKN is so bad that DMo would easily play starters minutes there. Also having Dmo's idol Scola helps.
This is such bullshit. Utah is trolling us. D-Mo and his agent made the Rockets look like the bad guys just because they wanted more money. The plot keeps thickening.
Is there any way Rockets or Adam Silver can eliminate that scumbag BJ Armstrong and kick him out of the league? Grade A d bag. I would love for that to happen.
Well if what Watkins just reported is true (3rd team came in and will give him bigger offer if Rockets resend match and send back to RFA) this has to be considered as clear cut tampering, and the Rockets should be able to push this to the league office for review and potential major fines. Also my understanding here is that the Rockets can waive the physical and fine him? Or can they just keep extending out the offer for as long as they want before D-Mo is official, and starve D-Mo out until he shows up for a physical and signs/reports to the team? Really shady move for BJ/D-Mo to pull this type of shenanigan. The league will definitely step in here if they think this is a violation of the RFA process and utilizing a loop hole in the process they need to snuff out. Would be bad precedent if agents started using the RFA process to publicize the deal after signing an offer sheet, and if another team comes in before you report to camp/sign officially, you just try and jump ship at the last minute by refusing to show up for your physical. Bush league move by BJ/DMo. Very much hope nobody in the NBA wants to work with BJ anymore after this stunt, and hope the league investigates this.
Sounds like poor agent-ing by the agent. Can't get a contract in timely manner Can't field the highest bidder Has no regard for client's PR Why is he still an agent again?
