Per Watkins, BJ was in talks with another team las week but they didnt offer befire the Nets. So he told Dmo to sign Nets offer, Rockets matched, and now third team offers bigger contract.
I vote just let him sign with Utah and see what their offer is. Wait **** Utah. Also, they are in the playoff race against us. hmmm, tough call, do you guys think D-Mo will suck it up and join the Rockets in the next 3 days?
If Utah can tamper like this, can we make a trade with them to also take Sewer off our hands for a top player on their team in order to send DMo back to RFA? I mean, if the league hasn't said anything about UTAH tampering after an offer sheet is signed, why couldn't we negotiate with them in order to play their game?
Wait, wait, wait, so he signs an offer with Brooklyn, the Rockets match, and he refuses to report, which means the Rockets can do one of three things. 1. Waive the physical - and start fining him 2. Return him to RFA - and go through this again. 3. Renounce his rights. Ok, I am 100% in Morey's corner here, he should do number 1, and ONLY number 1. Number 2 could cost us more cap room and money if Utah has a bigger offer - this is BJ's fault not ours. Number 3 would never happen, it would set a terrible precedent. So, I expect Morey to do number 1 and to start fining him......and watch how quickly it all gets worked out. AND, I don't blame them for TRYING to get a better offer, but it won't work..... DD
Don't blame DMo, this totally reeks of BJ Also, the Jazz shouldn't be held blameless for knowingly playing along with this BS
I don't understand how any of this is legal if he signed an offer sheet already. Trying to weasel out of one offer sheet to move on to the next so the Rockets either eat more millions in cost or don't match? Man...the NBA should be able to suspend a player indefinitely for something like this.
Base on Feigen tweet, he can be considered under contract and not reporting, and not paid. This is the way to go.
Yeah, well too bad, BJ. It doesn't work that way. If you suspected Utah had a better offer, then you go to them BEFORE D-Mo signs the Nets deal and you tell them to put up or shut up. Not AFTER you've already signed and the Rockets have matched.
I don't think it's a douchebag move at all. He wants the most money, that makes sense. What's absolutely mind blowing is how his agent is handling all this. Did Utah REALLY only offer a higher contract AFTER he signed the Brooklyn one? Seems like incompetence on BJ's part, imo. Which would obviously be par for the course so far. Their hope is for the Rockets' to make him an RFA again so he can sign a bigger contract, but like other posters have said, we can simply keep him in limbo until March 1st. What a cluster ****. I honestly didn't think BJ could **** this up anymore, but lo and behold he goes and does this. It's great.
You shouldn't have had the guy over playing video games and eating ice cream cake all night. This is what happens.
