I'm very pleased with his play this year but expectations for him were low. I like the way Harden gets on him. If you pay attention, you will see that Harden talks to him like a red headed stepchild that needs adderall, and Dekker takes it on the chin like a good dog.
What I am really liking about Dekker is that when he is in the game, he plays with a sense of urgency all the time. Always hustles. And is smart enough to slash and get rebounds. I like that he is "decisive" in his catch and shoot situations and the 3-ball is going down. So yeah, he is making the most of his minutes. He just needs to keep doing what he is doing and keep contributing. Another thing I like, defensively, he doesn't fall for "pump fakes" all that much. He stays on the ground, moves his feet and gets in the way. Very Battier-like.
Ive heard alot of people comparing scrubs to Dekker. Who are you to say that Dekker is anywhere near the level of Michael Jordan? Jordan cant hold a flame to Double Dekker Face Planter
Like the way he is developing. Seems like a great fit as a role player. Sucks that he probably won't be here long.
Was disappointed seeing him get minutes at the 4 because I thought those were Harrell's minutes to lose. But he's earning them and fits into the system.
Solid rotational player. Getting PT is a must to develop him to his full potential. He has been IMO the biggest surprise on this team this year. Great pick by Morey. At times he is still a little out of control and overwhelmed, but the more PT he gets, the more comfortable he will become.
realizing they have very little in common on the court > they're both white Dekker played phenomenal defense last night. He really has the savvy of a veteran, despite this being his what....15th game?
I think Montrezl is the guy that gets overlooked. I know he isn't a star, but he energy and athleticism brings a lot to this team. Also, he may not be a good defender, but I just don't see him spinning around like a top in the paint like Nene does every night he's out there. I know Nene is the veteran, but every game I've watched with Harrell out there it's been clear to my eyes that he brings more to the table right now than Nene.
He's going make some rookie mistakes. but over all he's been playing well, he had few steals last night.
