Yea. I'm beginning to hope it's ultimately not the case. I hate being right with shows like these. I feel like I've spoiled it for myself.
Just finished watching all 8 episodes in a few days. Enjoyable show and glad to be all caught up. I echo a lot of you in that I found the two lab techs extremely frustrating because they did not behave in a realistic manner given the situation. Out of all the storylines I dislike that one the most because of the two incompetent buffoons.
Some have speculated that the two buffoons are hosts and were programmed to be idiots and to aid Maeve in what she is doing.
Considering the cut in the one techs neck, I would imagine that would have killed a human and would require more than a handtool to heal.
It makes sense, cause when a company that blows through money like them, why wouldn't they automate most of the workforce?
Spoiler: Spoiler I think the show is kind of getting predictable. Bernard being Arnold was a little telegraphed.
Spoiler Man what a great episode. A lot was confirmed, I expected to find out about bernarnold but ford having him kill himself was truly shocking. I am now fully convinced that ford's new narrative is to recreate william and dolores' adventure 30 years prior when she killed arnold. Arnold meant the maze as a way for the hosts to gain consciousness, ford is now creating glitches to exert his control, which is explains why maeve's storyline seems implausible (because it was designed by ford and felix/sylvester are hosts). William (30 years ago) of course will probably go find dolores at her ranch, get his <3 all broke cuz she's like "who are you" and then comes for the next 30 years to try and jog her memory/find the maze. Oh and at some point drops the picture of his wife on the ol homestead.
hard to do a reasonable shock that is logical in this day and age. too many Internet detectives. I understand the show wants the viewer ignorant in regards to the when who and where, but it's very difficult to do that and not annoy the viewer. it's a very fine line to walk. Many times I've found myself on the annoyed side this season as in 'what's the character's motivation/mindset in this timeline?' Also many of the hosts emotions are totally unable to be related to at all and therefore get no emotional response from me. all the emoting Bernard, Delores, or Maive do are boring.
They threw enough curve balls for us to dodge it, I think deep down we knew, but were thrown aside a couple of times to not be a 100% certain. I liked it honestly, the show did it with brilliance.
This show really feels like a limited miniseries. The way the story is built, just don't see how it can go on for multiple seasons. It already feels like they're at the series finale.
Maive and her plans could be a whole new season. the corporations plans haven't been fleshed out or even the man in black. Wyatt hasn't been introduced rly and what his group knows or thier plans. lots of room for story but I agree this storyline feels so big that it has a final season feel.
Unless that is precisely why Ford made it that the majority of the crew is also bots, or got rid of people who were there when Arnold was still alive and then brought in new faces who never knew what happened...
MIB/William: Dammit Delores, just look at the MIB and say William! You were so close! You can do it. But no, it has to be just before the door to the church opens, lol. William went on a massacre which was great and his backbone has been delivered. Cut 'em into a thousand pieces. He gone full black. I kinda liked Logan for a second when they hugged before that. MIB is on the board of trustees! Arnold: Whew. Well there it is for the Arnold theorists! Confirmation. Agree though, it's almost implausible that nobody, especially Theresa, could figure out she was sleeping with the original designer of the park. But it does also confirm that the real human Arnold was meeting with clothed Delores in the flashbacks. Teddy: He could very well be William/MIB. He's on that same arc. Going rogue. And that would not be unlike Ford. But not sure why he just got stabbed to death by hottie. That was unclear to me and seemed a revelation for MIB. Delores: Interesting that she doesn't want to leave the park. But makes absolute sense. Probably more interesting that William doesn't get it. Maeve: She made Arnold bow before her. Frozen solid! Wants her army and for sure Bernardoldbot will join it, dead or not. Hector is on board. It's coming together, but to do what? She has rights to control every host already. So an army she has, but this other army for what... Clementine: Where did she come from? She was replaced by another hottie in the bar. I might of missed something. I'm quite sure Maeve would have brought her back from decommission, but she just suddenly appears. Me like the new Clementine a lot. Ford: Still wants more power. But what is that power for...we have no f'in idea. Seems like he is trying control the shiot he created with Arnold in the first place. Religion does indeed seem to be a way to do that, as it always has been historically, but think it's much bigger than that. He wants to rule worlds. Photo: Logan probably drops the wife photo when he dies in the park. We know it's at least 30 years old now. Abernathy finds it. When he makes his trip out of the park he will be seeking a dead wife from the photo, but will instead find Logan's family ( MIB's daughter ). Wife should already be dead. Not sure what happens there as Logan's family theoretically support the park and have no reason to not continue supporting it, but 35 years of data would be sitting right next to them to use against Ford, or to use against the Park, or to use it as the Board intended it to be used. Summary: Unlike the last episode where the flashbacks were slow and obvious, they came at us like darts. So many i have a headache. One more episode!
The Piano: I often wondered why the Piano was in the opening scene for the show outside of being kinda cool and key element to Red Dead Redemption. That makes it significant. Someone pointed out that Ford used music to calm Maeve down in the room. And that at another point in WW Meave angrily shut down the piano once she gained consciousness. And so it could be the piano is a form of control in the park for 1st gen hosts. Interesting.
