    I'm guessing they're trading Lavine.

you know, it would suck for the president of the team if his long-term plans for championship success for the franchise were dashed just because the coach was impatient and sick of losing and wanted some short-term wins.

LaVine starts at the 2 with Rubio at the one. Jones gets no PT (still a very young player). Dunn plays the backup but slowly taking minutes from Rubio.
    Starting 5:
    Rubio/Dunn
    LaVine
    Wiggins
    Dieng
    KAT

LaVine. He is far better this year, but Wolves are worse with him on the floor

Of course Wolves are trying to dump Rubio. They know he's bad at basketball.

I admire Bucher for being able to write a few paragraphs that say nothing.

They are terrible. Huge disappointment. I thought they would be much better then what they are.

So, if this report is credible, which young star do you let go of? Bigger question is what "type" of vet do you give up for this alleged star? It's not KAT,Andrew,Zach, Dieng or Dunn. Is Rubio a "young star?" I'd just say he's young...

I've had a chance to watch them quite a bit this year, and I agree with the epic disappointment comments. Thibs is a fantastic coach, and while the team is young, there is a ton of talent over there. It's an issue of chemistry and the players adjusting to Thibs' offense/defense and coaching style. The KAT/Wiggins combo could be deadly with time, but it may be one of those combos that looks amazing on paper but doesn't do any damage on the court.

In my opinion, KAT should be the complete focal point of that team with Wiggins being #2. On most nights, the opposite is true in terms of the focus on offense. Andrew is a great talent, but bigs like KAT don't come around for 5 or more years. His potential (tired word, but appropriate) is immeasurable, but you have to give him the reins right now.

Rubio is a starting guard on the Wolves. On other teams, his status as a starter could be questionable. He's still very young, and he's shown some flashes as an efficient pass-first guard, but overall, his ceiling is probably 15ppg/8-10 assists. That would be a career year for him, too. And, as most have mentioned, his shooting is mediocre for an NBA guard and it's not just the percentages. He needs work on his form...some shooting coaches have mentioned completely restructuring it altogether. The Rubio hype, even as it's died down, is something I don't quite understand...does his defense really make up for his deficits in other categories?

The Rockets had interest in Tyus Jones on draft day, and after watching him, you could make the case that he'll be the better player eventually.

The Wolves will be interesting to watch.

The games I've seen, Lavine, for as impressive as he is highlight-wise, is not a player that Thibs needs on the court. If I'm Minnesota, he's the player I'd deal for someone more seasoned, disciplined, and more of a leader even if far less individually spectacular.

If they could figure out their 3rd qtr woes, they'd actually be pretty good.

This. He's too much of a question mark as a third year player on a team that needs more chemistry (as Codman elaborated on) than pure talent.

    Do not want Lavine...

If I'm the Wolves, Lavine is taking away shots from my top dogs, Towns and Wiggins.

It doesn't make any sense. You would think Ricky Rubio is an automatic championship

Rubio's value is dropping off incredibly fast. Thibs is getting tired of him.

How badly do you think Thibs wants Ariza and/or Bev? I think he would LOVE to have them on his team.

The problem is we need more defense and so do they. Rubio is totally useless to us now that we've seen Harden at full time PG. I would however be interested in Lavine as a young role player spot up shooter who we can keep long term (his catch and shoot numbers are great), but he can't guard anyone so I don't think he'd be a succesful starter here.

You mean Thibs is schizo and might destroy his own plans
