Sounds like X-Factor move! I guess D-Mo spend his free time by playing chess all summer long.

I see what you are saying HP.
Dmo also wants full or partial guarantee for next year as well. We could not have his cake and eat it too if he signed before Nov 23rd.

Yes he could have. If any team was willing to offer him a multi year deal he could have signed it and would be protected from a trade if the rockets matched. Whether it was 1 year or multiple years, any offer sheet would have protected him from a trade if the rockets matched.

I'm sure Dmo & BJ have been negotiating with teams since FA began, but now that they're leaking out this info of seeking other teams to the media seems desperate to me. I think BJ's tactics and influence are terrible.

I think Dmo needs to play in Europe (not in China, but a competitive league) to show his value after a year of (1) injury and (2) the dilemma of the failed Detroit trade.

Come back after a year overseas and get that check in RFA based on proven non-injury skill

    Did not know that.
I thought he only had trade protection if it was 1 year deal since his bird rights would be in jeopardy.

Offer sheets have to be a least 3 years in length (or 2+1 player/team option)

I am personally pissed at DMo because I am a ROCKET FAN. I am trying to find DMo's prospective for not just signing the qualifying offer. There is no way he just sat at home that day --> he has a plan. (as Rocket fans I don't think we are part of his plan)

I'm not mad at anyone in this and don't think anyone else should be either.

Morey wants to protect the rockets and dmo wants to protect himself. I don't blame either of them.

Our offer sheets even still in play anymore?
I thought since the qualifying offer had passed all that was left was right of first refusal. The length of the deal did not matter.

This whole situation does not make sense to me at all. My last guess at this is it must be about minutes.

Exactly what I thought. He should have done it long time ago. What was he thinking?

The best part of this is how basketballholic can be wrong but just keep adapting his theories as it goes along and be totally unfazed.

Can someone tell me why DMo wants no-trade so badly?

I can understand him wanting a long term guaranteed contract for security. Normally a player wants no-trade because he wants to stay with the team he likes. What team does he like apart from the Rockets and why? Apparently he is not endearing himself with the Rockets by doing what he is doing. So it makes no sense at all.

I actually think he just wants more money than the rockets have offered. His agent has him convinced they can get him more money. We'll see what happens.

Unless DMo and BJ know that his back is really delicate and may not hold up and that's why they're trying to get more guaranteed money and not playing in Europe right now.

I am convinced that the real issues right now are playing time and money. The bigger issue of the two being playing time.

i remember reading in some interview he wants to choose the team he plays for himself, i think he might be delusional about how good he is (i like him very much, but srsly he is probably delusional)

I imagine it's less about the no-trade and more about guaranteed years, but the reason is the same, he doesn't trust the Rockets FO, and he shouldn't.

I understand all are doing what is in their best interest. As a fan I want him on the court or traded for value. Watch he is just going to walk away with no return to the TEAM is what I am pissed at not him the person --> thanks for keeping focused.
