I assume all of this ends with a "We will get Ricky Rubio" clause as well.

The NBA CBA won't retroactively act to grandfather in previous contract negotiations if that's what you are hinting at here. They might create an amendment, but I can't see anything as crazy as what you are hinting at here. No attorney would put in language that undoes previous contract ramifications. We would be ill advised to gamble on the random occasion where the new CBA (which wouldn't go into affect for some time) would be worth "waiting for" since more than likely however long he waits, his contract will always revert back to his free agency period starting July of 2016.

What do we know vs. what can we determine what is likely to happen next-

-D-Mo is no longer receiving paychecks as of a few weeks ago
-Today is the (self imposed/fake) Rockets deadline to sign the current offer, which means his next offer will be lower from the Rockets
-There are no other pending offers from other teams we know of
-There are a handful of teams with cap space who could step in at any time
-The Rockets will retain his NBA restricted rights regardless even if he signs overseas

Personal problems (with the way he was handled by the Rockets)....

I don't really know what that means. Did the Rockets resend the trade months ago because of concerns with his back? Are the Rockets in control of what other teams offer Donatas that sets his market value? Did the Rockets not start him when he really shouldn't have been coming back from surgery last season(which led to him getting starter criteria)?

I don't really see what Donatas' problem would be with the way the Rockets are or did treat him. I'm a huge D-Mo fan myself, but even I don't see much sympathy coming his way. Bad decision to sign with BJ Armstrong, and not fire him once he could see that he has totally mishandled his free agency.

??? What are you thinking that I am hinting at here?
That if he is a RFA next summer he along with every other RFA will be able to sign right away and not have to wait for 5-7 days? That the matching period will be 24 hours less? And his caphold will be 50% more?
yEAH I dont' believe that of every player in the league they will just make an exception for DMO only and have him wait 5 more days and give the Rockets more hours to match an offersheet.

I dont' know why he is disgruntled. But noone here does. We weren't there personally to hear what promises the team made him or not made him.
I also dont know of DMO's personal character. But I dont' think he's a paranoid schizophrenic to believe without the slightest reason that someone has mistreated him.

My guess is that he was offered more money before they signed RA and now he feels slighted.

I've been telling you for months since the Anderson signing that this was about role as much as money.

This thing is fixing to swing way in DMo's favor. He can sign an offer sheet. There's one available to him to sign. Morey knows it. And Morey knows if he doesn't resolve the rotation by the trade deadline that DMo will sign an offer sheet after the deadline that basically makes him untradeable for the length of the contract if Morey matches it. The whole idea/rumor that there hasn't been an offer sheet given to DMo is preposterous. It's just people guessing that have no knowledge of what has actually happened privately.

Heypartner and the rest of the "DMo and BJ are clueless" crowd don't know what's going on here and they're in denial when told.

Which team has given DMo this offer sheet and why hasn't DMo signed it yet?

Can any of us really say that any player has reason to trust the Rockets FO? You trust guaranteed money, and you trust no trade clauses. Nothing else. Hell the coach went to talk to DMo before FA and told him that he wanted to use him as his primary PF right before Morey throws a ridiculous contract at a PF. It's understandable that DMo wouldn't trust anything they say.

I don't see how the RFA signing date helps DMo. That is meant more for highly sought after RFAs competing fairly with UFAs for signing deals for early-money in the Moratorium. DMo would be a Plan B or Plan C signing after those initial big-name signings. So, the earlier signing date could actually hurt middle-tier RFAs as much as it helps ... because big name RFAs would contribute more to drying up cap room during the Moratorium now. Lessor sought RFAs could potentially have even less teams with cap room at the end of the Moratorium.

As for the 50% increase in Cap Hold helping DMo (or is it a higher QO amount??), that could definitely help him become a UFA. But if Morey still gives him a QO, that doesn't help any. if Morey does not extend the QO, would that mean he loses his Bird Rights with us...thus taking one major team out of the running for his services. Never helps to lose your Bird Rights in Summer Free Agency negotiations.

Completely disagree. You are making the assumption that every team is aiming at A class players.
When Houston will be preoccupied in the first days of FA to court stars like Griffin, Millsap , Hayward small market, or bad teams will go straight up to more achievable targets like the DMOs of the world...since most of the times the ones who would be Plan A for the Rockets don't even give them meetings. Especially since they will have the benefit of the team with the bird rights to be under pressure to make a fast decision.

This new change is promoting RFA "freedom" and movement 100%.
Also another change that will come is that the team will not be allowed to rescind the QO late.

    Not surprising.

As I said earlier, Morey will likely push Dmo's RFA status into next offseason, as that is the most advantageous position for the Rockets.
